Studies show that the best way to manage ADHD (still) involves prescribing medication. But the national ratio of children to child psychiatrists is 6,644:1. So 85% of these medications are prescribed by pediatricians. The same pediatricians who, more often than not, report discomfort with prescribing. We can keep complaining but we prefer to do something about it. So we partnered with Advocare, LLC to educate pediatricians and next week, August 1, at 12:15 pm ET will be our second education session about prescribing non-stimulants for ADHD. Dozends of pediatricians joined our first session and we loved taking on questions and sharing knowledge. Please register here: https://lnkd.in/ejKnnUch And please share this information with other providers. #mentalhealth #medicationmanagement #pediatrics

Today, we're proud to share the news of our $10 million seed raise, led by Rethink Impact, LP. Nearly one in ten American children have ADHD, impacting their relationships, self-confidence, and performance at school. Unfortunately, 80% of children with ADHD don’t have access to the breadth or quality of care recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, and most families wait over a year and pay $3,000 or more out of pocket to get access to ADHD treatment. Clarity Pediatrics makes pediatric ADHD care 10x more accessible and 20x more affordable: families have access to next-day appointments, including for ADHD diagnostic screening and medication-related services, and pay an average co-pay of $15 per session. This investment supports Clarity Pediatrics' launch of new clinical service lines, further development of our innovative care platform, and geographic expansion. We're grateful to Maverick Capital, Homebrew, January Ventures, VamosVentures, Alumni Ventures and City Light Capital for their participation in this round and their ongoing commitment to investing in pediatric care innovation for the benefit of all families. https://lnkd.in/eHagwFQ2 #adhd #pediatrics #chroniccare #claritypediatrics #digitalhealth #healthtech #startup #funding #seedraise #venturecapital

## Early Detection is Key: Developmental & Behavioral Screening Tests for Children **What are they?** * Screenings to assess a child's development in language, movement, thinking, behavior & emotions. * Based on developmental milestones (smiling, rolling over, walking). * Identify potential delays that may indicate developmental disabilities. **Why are they important?** * Early intervention for developmental disabilities can significantly improve a child's life. * The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends screenings at 9 months, 18 months, & 30 months. * Screenings for autism spectrum disorder at 18 & 24 months are also recommended. **What to expect during a screening:** * Performed by your child's doctor or through questionnaires you complete with guidance. * Common tests include Ages & Stages Questionnaire, PEDS, Child Development Inventories, & M-CHAT. **No special preparations needed and there are no risks involved.** **What do the results mean?** * Not meeting milestones doesn't necessarily mean a problem, but may warrant further evaluation. * Talk to your doctor if you have questions about the results. **Early detection leads to better outcomes! #developmental #screening #earlyintervention #pediatricians #parents #childdevelopment**

#AutismParents Do you fear you are not doing enough for kid with autism? Feeling guilty about not meeting the intensive therapy recommendations or, if you are, why they are not “working” as you had hoped? Then listen up, I’ve got some news for you! In this week’s episode I am discussing a ground breaking article recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Pediatrics that calls into question the “more is better” standard for autism therapy. Tune in to learn: * How we’ve been led to believe that more is better when it comes to therapy. * Why higher amounts of intervention may not be more helpful for children with Autism. * The dangers of the Lovaas study from 1987. * Why, no matter how much you do for your child, you feel like you’re falling short. * How to make decisions for your child without the unrealistic expectations or standards you’ve been fed. A new AAP report shares updated information on how pediatricians can help prevent child abuse and neglect. Check it out here! 🩺 "Child abuse and neglect, also known as maltreatment, can stem from family stress, economic pressure, substance use or a variety of other factors. But like other health risks, it can be prevented, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. The AAP has updated a clinical report outlining ways pediatricians can reduce child maltreatment. Efforts to reduce child maltreatment include offering anticipatory guidance to families and caregivers, identifying family stressors, and providing evidence-based interventions to reduce child maltreatment.
