In exactly one month from now, my book Nelson Goodman and Modern Architecture: A Belated Encounter, will be published by Routledge. In it, I investigate overlooked aspects of both 20th-century architecture and philosophy, and I am particularly honored that it comes with endorsements from heavyweights in architecture, art history, and philosophy, who have kindly read my work. Did you know that housing in Mexico is a fundamental right, enshrined in the constitution? It is therefore the responsibility of the state to ensure that every citizen has adequate and decent housing. But what exactly does “adequate” mean? Architect Tatiana Bilbao addresses this very question. She places people at the centre, integrates the social perspective into the discourse and sees the role of architecture among other things as democratising beauty. We met her and spoke to her about her work, architecture, structures in space, the symbolic dimension of light and the metropolis of Mexico City. NCNTP is a three-year project that started in 2022 and will continue until 2025. Bringing together urbanists, architects, and space designers from seven European countries, New Temporality originally developed around the large-scale topic of architecture during crises and unstable times.  New Temporality is a European project, a consortium of 8 partner organisations, the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, together with the APSS Institute in Podgorica, the Barleti University in Tirana, the Tbilisi Architecture Biennial, the Berlin Coopera, the Pavilion of Culture Kyiv, the Trans-Media-Akademie Hellerau in Dresden and the Lisbon Architecture Triennial, which aims to strengthen architectural culture across the continent, documenting, researching and valuing common temporary spaces and questioning the notions of permanence and stability associated with the spatial dimension of architecture. *The New Cross-National Temporality project NCNTP is a three-year joint programme among cultural entities and academic institutions from seven countries financed by @creative.eu #NewTemporality #Coopera

Suryawinata and Heinzelmann, co-founders of SHAU, will present their recent works that demonstrate a 'socio-climatic' design strategy tailored to the local Indonesian context. Ever consider what architecture and building design might look like when informed by planetary boundaries? A cool little exhibit put on by the Royal Danish Academy explores how the architecture and design of the future can co-exist with a balanced planet. The focal point of the 'Planetary Boundaries – Rethinking Architecture and Design' exhibition is to perceive the world from a fresh perspective, seeking an approach to architecture and design disciplines that revolves around planetary well-being and the state of the global environment. This exhibition, which is free of charge, allows users to experience 25 selected projects which – from an academic architectural or design perspective – ponder the potential for innovative design, building materials and types of dwellings with wide-ranging aesthetics – but a tiny planetary footprint. Each of the 25 projects exhibited considers one or more of the nine planetary boundary parameters.
