Shout out to all the women in leadership today. We’re amazing! 🙌🏆 Check this out: 💸 Companies with women in leadership are 25% more likely to reach above-average profits. 🫶 The mere presence of a female leader can lead to fairer treatment and higher organizational trust. 🎯 Companies with women in at least 30% of the executive roles are more likely to outperform those with less diverse C suites. 💡 Women tend to be better at EQ, listening, mentoring, innovation, and creativity. 📈 Women investors tend to achieve positive returns and outperform men by 40 basis points. 🧭 Gender-diverse boards are less likely to need to recall a product — and when a recall is necessary, it’s initiated faster. Don’t let the haters get you down, ladies. We’re doing a phenomenal job! *Sources: APA, Fidelity Investments, Forbes, World Economic Forum #WomenEntrepreneurs #WomenInBusiness #WomenInLeadership

Glass ceilings aren't just broken; they're shattered by the impact of female leaders worldwide. On International Women's Day, we don't just celebrate the achievements of women. We recognise the transformative power of female leadership that reshapes industries, communities, and societies. From boardrooms to political arenas, women are not just participating; they're leading the charge, bringing unique perspectives, empathy, and resilience to the forefront of decision-making. Recent research by money.co.uk on the Fortune 1000's top companies showcases the significant impact of women in leadership roles. With only 8% of these companies led by women, they're not just competing; they're outperforming. These companies report an average revenue of £26 billion, surpassing the £20 billion average for their male-led counterparts. Asset management is another area where women-led firms excel, holding an average of $128 billion compared to the $55 billion by firms under male leadership. Even though male-led companies maintain a slight edge in market value, the overall financial performance of women-led businesses is impressive. These compelling statistics not only illuminate the financial achievements of women-led companies but also reinforce the broader importance of diversity and inclusion in corporate leadership. This International Women's Day, let's celebrate the transformative impact of women in leadership roles and inspire continuous progress towards an inclusive future where every achievement paves the way for the next. A special thanks to Pippa Topp, Celine Maher and Bregje Meuwissen for sharing their words of wisdom with us. The data shows that women in leadership is an economic imperative, yet still only 7% of CEOs in the UK’s largest public companies are women, just 10% of businesses are female-founded and a mere 2% of venture capitalists are women. In this episode of Mind the Gap, Mariella Frostrup talks to Edwina Dunn OBE, trailblazer in data science and female empowerment, about her journey to becoming an inspirational business leader and why, as founder of The Female Lead, she is fighting hard to tackle the challenges facing women today. Despite equal education and workforce entry, women are still underrepresented in leadership roles. Edwina highlights how we often hire in our own image, perpetuating a cycle where masculine traits are valued over equally competent female counterparts. Speaking from experience, Edwina talked about the two key areas a true leader needs to excel in: spotting and developing talent, and crafting a robust strategy. She says: “Someone having to be the smartest person in the room can do the most damage to a business. You don’t have to be the smartest. You just have to bring the smartest person into the room”. Edwina stresses the importance of breaking these old patterns, pushing for societal changes that can help redesign work to support women’s continuous professional growth. From the classroom to the boardroom, we must show that leadership is attainable for women. Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/esQrtjpW Edwina will be joining us at the Women in Work Summit, 26th September, Kings Place, London. A few days late given #InternationalWomensDay was last week but I wanted to put pen to paper and share some thoughts I had over the past week. #1: The #authoritygap is still stark in modern workplaces. Throughout my career, I have both witnessed, and been in situations, where ideas and decisions from women leaders (or myself) are either ignored and overlooked, only to be validated when reiterated by a male colleague; or where women are cut off mid-sentence/point. #2: I hope to see more women in #leadership roles across APAC in the coming years. Much has been said about the value women leaders bring to the table. I’ve personally benefited from the insights and mentorship of women leaders, both in the private and public sectors. And I very much look forward to seeing more women at the decision-making table. #3 I believe everyone, including and especially me, can play a bigger part to champion #genderequality at the workplace. This can come in big ways and small. For example, recognising and addressing #unconsciousbias, both within ourselves and our organisational cultures, and speaking out against them when they arise. Some reflections that double us a personal commitment for me to actively support and uplift other women in the workplace. And ending off with #gratitude for all the women who’ve helped me along an often bumpy, winding road.

On August 9th, CCC-I's Director, Sanjeeta Agnihotri (She/Her), took the center stage as the keynote speaker at International Center for Research on Women (ICRW)’s event, "Advancing Women in Health Leadership: Barriers and Breakthroughs." It wasn’t just another conference – it was a moment of awakening for women in leadership! Here are some key take-aways from her inspiring keynote address: ✨ Women Deserve More Than Just a Seat: Sanjeeta reminded us that leadership isn’t about waiting for a turn; it’s about creating the space where every woman belongs. Let’s pull each other up! ✨ Start Empowering Women Early: Why wait for women to reach senior roles before we support them? The real magic happens when we nurture, inspire, and guide women right from the start of their careers. ✨ The Power of Mentorship: Having strong female mentors is game-changing. Sanjeeta reminded us how crucial it is for women to lift each other up, creating a support system where everyone wins. At CCC-I, we don’t just believe in breaking glass ceilings – we’re committed to building a world where every woman can rise, lead, and thrive. 💪💜 Let’s keep pushing boundaries and making history – together! #WomenInLeadership #HealthLeadership #GenderEquality #MentorshipMatters #BreakingBarriers #EmpoweredWomenEmpowerWomen #LeadershipRevolution

The global share of women in leadership positions, according to the World Economic Forum, is 31%. When it comes to Fortune 500 companies, women held only 10.4% of the leadership positions in 2023, according to Forbes. This means that in 2023, there were only 52 women running businesses on the Fortune 500 list. Compare this number to the year 1999 when only 3 large companies in the US were led by women and you will see a huge difference. But is it enough? Not really. We need more women in leadership. Today more than ever. The following reasons explain why: Today women are more ambitious than they have ever been. In fact, data shows that companies with female executives are 30% more likely to outperform other companies. This does not only make them thoughtful leaders but also exceptional role models. Women’s representation in leadership is not keeping up the pace. In 2022, 58.4% of the US workforce was made of women but only 35% of them held senior leadership positions. It is high time more women emerged to the scene and assumed higher positions. Women add diversity to teams, leading to better decision-making. This means more inclusive and innovative solutions, policies, research, etc. Inclusion of women in leadership positions directly makes the world a better place. Allowing more women to lead inspires the new generations, leading to a wider range of qualified candidates striving to be in leadership positions, bringing about the change and benefiting the world.
