It takes a bold marketing team to shut down web sales over Black Friday weekend, and La Roche-Posay Laboratoire Dermatologique has done just that! 🚫 From the 21st to the 27th of November, you won't be able to shop on La Roche Posay's website because they've turned it into a free dermatology clinic, offering visitors 1000s of consultations with skincare experts and doctors completely free of charge. 👀 Sure, some of those consultations will turn into sales, but plenty won't. Instead, what La Roche Posay is doing here is building closer connections with a smaller subset of its customers and positioning itself as a brand that's about more than just selling skincare. US outdoor brand REI was one of the first to buck the Black Friday trend closing all their retail stores back in 2015 in order to allow their staff the time to spend it with their families and have done so every since. Contrary to everyone’s predictions they didn’t see a downturn in their revenue. Putting employee wellbeing front and centre of your brand does pay huge dividends when done well 🥰
