DASBE partners Technological University of the Shannon and Atlantic Technological University have over 30 Micro Credentials starting over the coming months across the DASBE themes of Energy Efficiency, Circular Economy and Digital Construction. DASBE MicroCreds have been designed to provide education in critical areas needed to upskill the construction and retrofit sectors. 36 Micro credentials are commencing in September 2024 and will cover topics such as BIM, Fire Safety, Circular Economy, Green Procurement and more. On April 26th, NAESCO Executive Director Dr. Timothy Unruh will be attending the White House Summit for Sustainable and Healthy K-12 School Buildings and Grounds alongside climate-leading K-12 school districts and state agency representatives, key national stakeholders and associations, and federal agency officials.    The submit will highlight equitable access to energy efficient, climate resilient, and healthy school facilities that are conducive to learning. It will amplify the pressing need for sustainable 21st-century school infrastructure and the impact that facility conditions have on student and teacher health and learning outcomes. The event will also provide deeper insight into the tools and existing commitments offered by the federal government to invest in school sustainability and infrastructure. Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) are key partners in the push to modernize aging K-12 building infrastructure. ESCOs can offer the expertise and resources to guarantee long-term success by fully integrating all areas and aspects of a project. ESCOs will handle energy audits and complicated projections for determining multi-year savings and advise potential future savings beyond the term of a contract. Working with an ESCO offers the fiscal advantage of financing an energy efficiency retrofit entirely from the realized future energy savings via an Energy Performance Contract (EPC) or Energy Service Performance Contract (ESPC). MDRC's Center for Effective CTE has a new blog post about how Delaware is embedding environmental literacy competencies across it's CTE pathways, to help prepare the future green labor market.
