It's incredible the kind of scale you can unlock with TikTok ads in just a few weeks. After only 2 weeks of being live we've managed to take an account north of 4k / daily spend with no real limit to scale. A few learnings so far: - CPMs are still drastically lower, around 1/3 of Meta - It takes about 2 weeks for ads to really hit their stride - What works on Reels works on TikTok (broadly speaking) - Not all creators are created equal, certain creators really cater to the TikTok audience - The more organic your content the better The biggest benefit in my view is that you get access to an incremental audience that is much cheaper to reach than Meta. For most brands that start out on Google and Meta net new reach is the real issue thats preventing growth. So if you've been trying to scale Meta for months and aren't succeeding TikTok may well be the answer to scaling to new heights. Happy testing ✌

US TikTok Ban could lead to 60% of users migrating to Meta's platforms as a core replacement. This also leads to Meta potentially capturing between 22.5% and 27.5% of TikTok’s U.S. ad revenues in the event of a ban. Meta knows they have to gear up for the opportunity, so no wonder they are making more and more platform-related announcements. Here are just some: 1. A new ranking algorithm Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri shared the removal of reposted content from its feed, replacing re-uploads with the original videos. The 'Direct Replace' posts will include tags directing viewers to the original creator’s account. The goal of this is to remove exposure for aggregators who regularly repost 'unoriginal content that they didn’t enhance. 2. New bonus program on Threads: Creators using Threads will be rewarded through a limited-time bonus program. It is reported that creators have been promised up to $5,000 for posts that receive at least 10k views. To have posts qualify, they must receive a minimum of 2k views, include text, and have NO WATERMARKS from other platforms. 3. Facebook taking TikTok features: All Facebook videos will default to a full-screen portrait format. Unlike TikTok, however, a simple flip of the phone will seamlessly switch to landscape viewing. Unskippable Meta Ads Meta is testing a new feature on Instagram that will require users to watch ads on videos they can't scroll past - akin to YouTube. This development hasn't exactly thrilled Meta users. With Instagram's shift from a photo-sharing app to a video-sharing platform, influenced by the rise of TikTok, the company is exploring new ways to monetize its audience. One such method involves introducing unskippable ads, referred to as "ad breaks." This approach closely mirrors the experience on YouTube's free version, though it's currently in the testing phase on Instagram. However, it raises the question: Could we eventually see a paid, ad-free version of Instagram?

Reels is now revenue-neutral, but reports hint that Meta is struggling to convince advertisers that Reels can drive performance.
