At Social Finance, we work to increase access to job training programs that help workers upskill. Check out Arthur’s Story to see how a training program kickstarted his IT career: Arthur knew he wanted to take the next step to advance his career. He tried college, but it wasn’t the right fit. He wanted to serve in the army, but was ineligible due to his eyesight. He liked the idea of a short-term training program, but he wasn’t ready to take the financial risk of leaving his job and paying for tuition. After learning about Merit America on Tik Tok, Arthur enrolled in their 14-week IT Support program, financing his training with a zero-percent-interest loan through the Google Career Certificates Fund. After completing the program, Arthur was hired by pharmaceutical manufacturer Merck. At Social Finance, we’ve learned a lot about outcomes-based #contracting in the dozen or so years since we first launched #payforsuccess tools in the U.S. We’re excited to share our learnings in “Pay for Success Contracting,” the eighth brief in a series of 10 updated issue briefs meant to help #government, #philanthropy, and the #privatesector link funding to results to better serve people and communities. Here, we lay out the basics of contracting for outcomes, including how to incorporate outcomes-based elements into existing agreements. Thanks to RWJF for supporting the creation of this resource, and to my coauthor Ivy Brewer, MPA, MBA, JD! https://lnkd.in/gZhjGHCq
