When you need to make technology that genuinely works and brings value and security for your clients, behind it, you need a team of stable, loyal people who work well together. Here are three of my top tips for developing such a team: 1. Align Goals Beyond Business Objectives Understanding your employees' personal aspirations is crucial. Engage in conversations about their 2, 5, and 10-year plans and align the company's values and goals accordingly. Whether an employee aims to retire in five years or pursue a different career path, accommodating their ambitions fosters loyalty and commitment. 2. Prioritise Time-Off While tech businesses often operate around the clock, it's vital to encourage your core team to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Support set working hours, such as finishing at 5pm and avoiding weekend work. Extend similar support to your out-of-hours teams to ensure they also benefit from adequate rest and recuperation. 3. Embrace Mistakes as Growth Opportunities As Sir John Timpson CBE wisely said, “If you’re not making three mistakes a day, you’re not trying hard enough.” At DeepView , we cultivate an open and honest culture where mistakes are seen as natural by-products of hard work and innovation. This approach allows for the quick transformation of errors into solutions and breakthroughs. Open communication fosters agility and accelerates technological advancements in our industry. By focusing on these principles, we create an environment where our team can thrive, leading to superior technology solutions for our clients.
