A summary of my special remark as a guest for the Society for peace studies and practise international peace conference alongside Ernest K. Gibson from International Peace Bureau (IPB).
I call for a global commitment to peace, stating that "peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is the cultivation of harmony, the flourishing of human potential, and the realization of shared aspirations."
My statement outlines the challenges that lie ahead, including poverty, inequality, discrimination, and the erosion of human rights. It also calls for a paradigm shift in thinking, away from the destructive logic of conflict towards the constructive dialogue of collaboration.
"We must invest in education, empowering future generations with the knowledge and skills to build a more peaceful world".
"The path to peace is not without its hurdles".
"There will be moments of doubt, setbacks, and entrenched resistance. Yet, we must persevere, guided by our unwavering belief in the inherent goodness of humanity and our collective capacity to overcome adversity."
My statement concludes with calling for a collective commitment to dialogue, understanding, and action. "Together, we can transform the world we live in, forging a future where peace prevails, where harmony flourishes, and where the human spirit soars to its fullest potential."
