Bringing your brand & dream clients together (with a sprinkle of humour!) You can call me the 'Cilla' of marketing matchmaking but I have a much better success rate! 😉
This is the secret to knowing which social platforms you should be on👇 It's all well and good 'thinking' you should use a platform, but why should you use it? A mission statement for each platform will help you work out what the actual point of using that platform is AND how it links to the business objectives. Here's a throwback video to June last year, when Fran Watson and I delivered a session on social media strategy. Can't watch it now? Save it for later. #socialstrategy #socialmediaforyourbusiness #missionstatement

🌐 The Impact of Social Media on Our Time and Attention Imagine for a moment if our favorite social media platforms suddenly switched to a subscription-based model. Would we be willing to pay for the time we spend on them? Recently, I came across a TED Talk that shed light on some eye-opening statistics about our social media habits. Did you know that a typical 19-year-old spends a staggering 93% of their free time on social media? That's equivalent to 26 years of their lives dedicated solely to scrolling, liking, and sharing. What's even more concerning is how our attention spans are being reshaped by the content we consume. With the rise of 15-second videos and bite-sized information, we find ourselves constantly switching from one piece of content to another. In fact, over 55% of web pages are viewed for a mere 15 seconds or less. When we calculate this against an average of 8 hours a day spent online, it becomes evident that we are becoming chronically distracted. Another alarming realization is that we have inadvertently become commodities for multiple companies. Our likes, shares, and clicks are not just innocent interactions but valuable data points that drive advertising revenue. Let's do a quick calculation: if your time is valued at ₹500 per hour and you spend around 3 hours a day on social media, that's already the equivalent of ₹45,000 per month in "unseen" costs. It's time for a reflection. Are we truly in control of our time and attention? How can we strike a balance between leveraging the benefits of social media and protecting our most valuable resources—our time and focus? I encourage you to watch the TED Talk that inspired these reflections.
