Caring for our Members in CA: Due to recent wildfires, we’ve implemented disaster overrides in California, allowing pharmacies to bypass refill-too-soon rejections and to apply overrides as needed to ensure members receive their medications without interruption. Home Delivery Delays due to inclement weather: We are monitoring winter weather across the country and the areas where UPS and FedEx services are impacted or suspended. In such cases, we are working with members to find alternate pharmacies where they can refill their medications. If a member is having trouble getting their medication, they can contact Member Support Services by chat on our website, email ([email protected]) or phone (844) 454-5201). Our team is available Monday through Friday, 8 am - 9 pm ET and Saturdays 11 am - 4 pm ET.

The connection between fire prevention and disease prevention lies in the shared principle of taking proactive measures to identify and mitigate potential risks before harm occurs, often by educating individuals on practices to avoid negative outcomes. Prevention, mitigation, adaptation, and resilience are all essential components of disaster and disease management. What can we learn from recent wildfires in Hawaii and California? See my thoughts on this in my free newsletter “An Ounce of Prevention” on Substack. #publichealth #prevention #preventivemedicine #wildfires #WildfireResilience #ClimateChange #DisasterResponce #FireSafety https://lnkd.in/gA_8WVa5

While Ohioans could get a storm of varying types at any time, it is typical for us to start watching the skies for severe weather in mid to late spring. April, May, and June are our most active months of severe weather, but we should keep ourselves always prepared for any kind of disaster. WATER IS A MUST! One gallon per day for each person for several days. Water will be needed for drinking, cooking, and sanitation. Additionally, you will need water for prepackaged instant food items such as oatmeal, freeze dried meals, ramen noodles, or infant formula powder just to name a few. Not only do you need water, but you need to ensure your water is safe. When storms produce flooding, water could become compromised. To learn more about water storage, visit https://lnkd.in/gmN5Gqha. If you do not have safe bottled water, all water should be boiled to make it safe to drink. Follow recommendations from your local health department for boiling or treating water in your area. The CDC recommends never using water from radiators or boilers from heating sources. But there are other areas inside and outside of your home where water might be available in an emergency. Visit https://lnkd.in/deYvW3J to learn where. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also shares water can be made safe in small quantities by using chlorine bleach, iodine or chlorine dioxide tablets. These can kill most harmful or viruses and bacteria that cause disease. Steps for disinfecting water with bleach can also be found on the CDC website.

As Hurricane Milton approaches, our thoughts are with every patient, doctor, and clinic preparing for what's ahead. 💙 In moments like these, it’s more than just healthcare—it’s about being a lifeline to those who count on us. We know that when the storm hits, it’s the human connection that matters most. Here are a few ways doctors' offices can make a difference: Stay Connected 📲 Keep communication lines open, even when everything else feels uncertain. Let your patients know how to reach you—through social media updates, patient portals, or emergency lines. Be Ready for Virtual Care 💻 When patients can’t reach you in person, a friendly face on the screen can bring comfort. Make sure your telehealth setup is ready and your team knows how to use it smoothly. Prepare with Care 🩺 Stock up on essential supplies, from medications to bandages. Work with local pharmacies to ensure patients have access to what they need most. Reach Out to Your Most Vulnerable ❤️ A simple check-in with those who need it most can bring peace of mind. For patients with chronic conditions or limited mobility, your voice could be the reassurance they need right now. At the heart of every doctor’s office is a commitment to serve—to be there when it counts. Let’s come together to ensure our communities stay safe, prepared, and cared for. #TogetherWeCare #HurricanePreparedness #Healthcare #ACO #ACOManagement #HurricaneMilton

Water damage is the disease of Bay Area homes. I have been posting about water damage A LOT lately. But really, I’m only sharing some of the water damage projects we have been working on. I don’t want to sound like a broken record but, it’s the reality in showing how important it is to take care of these things to protect our homes. And the truth is, water damage is one of the most common—and most preventable—issues we see in the Bay Area. This home didn’t become this way over night, but what was just a lack of fresh paint and old cracked caulking became water damage that would have eventually cost the integrity and safety of the home. By sharing these stories, my hope is to help you catch potential issues before they grow and to emphasize how important proactive care is. We are fortunate that these are the issues we deal with compared to some parts of the state (especially right now), and country, but they are still critical in keeping our families and homes we live in safe. Have you checked your home for potential water damage? If not, let’s talk about how to make sure it’s ready for whatever comes next
