𝙃𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧 𝘿𝙖𝙮, 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮. Today, we celebrate the contributions of workers across the nation. It’s a day to honor the tireless efforts of those who have built, shaped, and continue to drive our society forward. But beyond the barbecues and family gatherings, Labor Day holds a deeper significance. It’s a reminder of the power of collective effort. Every milestone we reach, every success we achieve, is the result of countless individuals working together towards a common goal. In my practice, I see this every day. I see the strength of unity in action, where the fight for justice isn’t just about one person’s battle but about the collective will to make things right. It’s easy to focus on individual achievements, but Labor Day teaches us that true progress comes from collaboration. Whether it’s the team working behind the scenes or the clients who trust us with their cases, every person plays a critical role. As we reflect on the significance of this day, let’s remember that our greatest strength lies in our ability to come together. In every victory, there’s a team behind it, with each member contributing their unique skills and perspectives. So, as we enjoy this well-deserved break, let’s also recommit to working together, lifting each other up, and striving for a future where justice and fairness prevail for all. Happy Labor Day, and here’s to the power of unity and collective action.

I recently read "My Life and Work" by Henry Ford. Probably the best book I've read this year, aside from my beloved repeat Atlas, though Francisco's money speech could easily have been based on it. IYKYK, so I digress... Along with some of my favorite shareable quotes, there is also an interesting glimpse into his evaluation of the potential for electric vehicles, which considering the time, is altogether quite insightful. Hopefully these inspire you as you celebrate Labor Day today: ·The moment one gets into the "expert" state of mind a great number of things become impossible. I refuse to recognize that there are impossibilities. I cannot discover that anyone knows enough about anything on this earth definitely to say what is and what is not possible. ·The natural thing to do is to work—to recognize that prosperity and happiness can be obtained only through honest effort. ·Now a business, in my way of thinking, is not a machine. It is a collection of people who are brought together to do work and not to write letters to one another. ·Be not bound by the present, but leave nothing to luck. ·A man ought to be able to live on a scale commensurate with the service that he renders. ·Put brains into the method, and more brains, and still more brains—do things better than ever before; and by this means all parties to business are served and benefited. ·There is no disgrace in honest failure; there is disgrace in fearing to fail.

"As we honor the labor movement’s achievements, let us also celebrate the resilience, strength, and leadership of African Americans who have shaped the course of labor history in the United States. Their stories remind us that the fight for justice and equality is ongoing and that every worker deserves to be treated with dignity and respect." Excellent piece on the importance of #LaborDay and honoring the legacy of those who fought, and continue to fight, for justice and equality in our society via Waymaker Journal: https://lnkd.in/eczc-VV7

As we celebrate Labor Day, let's honor the transformative power of work and the profound legacy of the people who fought for labor rights, and those still fighting (fair wages, safe working conditions, workers' rights to organize, adapting to new challenges, including those posed by the gig economy, technological advancements, and global labor issues). Work is more than a means to an end; it’s a journey that allows us to build something meaningful—creating a life that reflects our values, respect, and developing brands aligned with our passions. Job creators, driven by deep purpose, make a meaningful impact through innovation and service, changing lives, nurturing talent, and contributing to societal progress. Today, we recognize the gains, what still lies ahead, and the essential workers who build our nations—truck drivers, train workers, manufacturers, construction workers, service providers, agricultural workers, utility workers, and technology professionals. Your dedication shapes our futures, provides for our families, and leaves a lasting legacy. Happy Labor Day! Give yourselves a moment to step outside of your thoughts about the toil and detractors, and celebrate the spirit of work and the positive change it brings to our world. God bless and be well!

Employee Relations Specialist Happy to provide, advice, material and training suggestions - just a message away
It’s Unions Week and although I am an old relic, what I am seeing is probably the most confident, focused and best prepared movement for many many years. There is less reliance and desire for change based on political influence even though a rebalance of basic employee rights is long overdue. What we have now is a highly professional approach to research, organisation, strategic planning and innovative leverage that is based on the failure of government and business to deliver recognition of the loyalty and productivity of working people throughout austerity and the impact of covid! It was a mistake for employers who concluded that in a sociological way things hadn’t really changed - they did and Unions recognised this and adjustments were made and confidence has grown. Everything in the Unions has developed- the research the discipline and the training. Union training and the understanding of where law and legislation fits is highly sophisticated and uses academic and legal input to hone its bargaining approach And it is superior because it delivers it within its culture and does not have to look around in the marketplace for what it perceives to be a best fit for its front line negotiators. The Unions today are succeeding in understanding where they fit. The recent trends seem to indicate that professional approach is not being mirrored-particularly in the private sector. Union Week is a planned celebration and I think this year the right to celebrate is very real.

As we approach Labor Day, it’s important to reflect on the true essence of this day. Labor is not just about the work we do; it’s about the purpose we find in it. It’s about the dedication, the resilience, and the collective effort that drive progress and innovation in every industry. Labor Day is more than just a day off—it’s a celebration of the contributions of every worker, from those on the front lines to those behind the scenes. It’s a reminder that every role, no matter how big or small, plays a critical part in the tapestry of our society. “The dignity of labor depends not on what you do, but how you do it." – Edwin Osgood Grover Whether you’re leading a team, managing a project, or crafting something with your hands, the passion and integrity you bring to your work is what truly matters. As we celebrate this day, let’s honor the purpose behind our labor and the impact we have on our communities. Let’s also take this opportunity to support and uplift each other, recognizing that our collective efforts are what keep the wheels of progress turning. Happy Labor Day to all who contribute to the growth, success, and betterment of our world. Let’s continue to work with purpose and pride. #LaborDay #PurposefulWork #DignityOfLabor #Leadership #Community

Are we finally learning the lesson? “Change can come, but you cannot do it alone.” Seeing more women and yes men finally coming together - working together to get Harris/Walz elected gas me asking some questions. Why do y’all wait until it is dire to come together? How will you learn from this mistake and start implementing collaboration consistently? What will it take for Black women’s accomplishments (and Indigenous women’s) posts to receive as much attention and RT? I’ll share a examples comments.
Reverend Addie L. Wyatt’s legacy shines a light on the profound impact of an individual and holds an important place in American labor history. As she so perfectly put it, “Change can come, but you cannot do it alone.” #LaborDay honors the social and economic achievements of American workers. As we celebrate today, let’s remember the achievements of the women’s labor movement and those who paved the way for equal rights to work.
