Exactly one week ago, we broke ground at our MYTY Group forest in Bernau near Berlin. Over the next few years, around 5,000 oak trees will be growing here, which are specifically selected for their ability to thrive under today’s climatic conditions. This alone will certainly not be a game changer against climate change - nevertheless, it is an important and symbolic part of our sustainability commitment, which we started last year together with our partner Planted. Planting some of the trees ourselves and being able to witness their development over the next few years makes everything much more tangible. By measuring our carbon footprint, offsetting CO₂ emissions through carefully curated renewable energy projects around the planet and green habit building in our companies, we are already offsetting 25% more CO₂ emissions than we cause. And the trend is rising thanks to the identification of our climate sins and the will to change.
