🌎 IDI Conference 2024: Collection and use of customers’ data in agency, distribution and franchising networks – WORKSHOP 3
Last but not least, the third workshop of the #IDIConference 2024 will deal with the legal issues concerning the collection of the customers’ data made by retailers more or less integrated in the supplier’s distribution network (e.g. e-tailers, department stores, franchisees, selective distributors etc.), as well as the use of such data made by the members of the network.
In this framework, the workshop will not focus on privacy compliance aspects (which are taken for granted), but other legal concerns will be discussed, such as the value and goodwill of the data, the use after contract termination, the Supplier’s rights on them and others.
If you wish to actively discuss the above-mentioned topics, you can register for Workshop 3 at the following link:

On #WorldStandardsDay, it's a good time to reflect on the standards we also uphold in advertising and marketing. The International Chamber of Commerce Advertising and Marketing Communications Code sets a global benchmark for responsible, ethical practices.
So, what do you stand for in your advertising and marketing communications efforts? Let's ensure we are all promoting transparency, fairness, and integrity in every message we share - keeping it legal, decent, honest, and truthful.

Thanks Marc. Some key takeaways from the SME session. Most suppliers are SMEs, so for smaller companies and social enterprises lowering the barrier to entry is key.
For Suppliers
1. register on etenders .. make sure to find the most relevant cpv codes to meet your business profile.. we have a great tool on our website to help https://greenville.ie/cpv/
2. consider collaborating with other like minded suppliers including social enterprises
3. prepare a pack with some of the key data requested.. tax clearance from Revenue, insurances generally being employers liability, public liability and product liability and maybe professional indemnity, turnover details, details of quality, health and safety and environmental management systems, staff profile and previous experience.
4. make contact with local buyers first.. start local
5. seek feedback if you fail
What buyers can do
1. more use of supplier engagement using pre market consultation on etenders
2. run events locally to engage with firms on a sector or category basis outside of tendering
3. simplify tender process where possible.. don't be asking for turnover unless really necessary, why look for three examples of previous experience when one might be sufficient
4. consider where to position cost.. lower is better
5. use all the flexibility of public procurement not just the standard processes
if both sides are braver then we will reap rewards for local, sustainable, innovative procurement for everyone..
looking forward to hearing the success stories.
thanks everyone for a great day Ingrid De Doncker, Duncan Walker, Rita Shah, Des Phelan and Fergal Grogan and the Procurex team
