Today We Remember: National Day of Mourning Today, we observe the National Day of Mourning, a time to honor and remember those who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness due to workplace incidents. It's not just a day of reflection but a call to action for improving health and safety in our workplaces. Alarming Statistics: Every year, thousands of workers are injured on the job, with many cases leading to fatal outcomes. In 2022 alone, over 1,000 workplace fatalities were recorded in Canada. Each number represents a family member, friend, and colleague whose life was cut short including 33 young people aged 15-24. Furthermore, countless others continue to suffer from serious injuries and occupational diseases that change lives forever. Commit to Safety: Today serves as a poignant reminder of the crucial importance of safety protocols.
