Today Salesforce announced their latest product for marketers: Marketing Cloud Growth Edition (MCGE) Features: ✅ Built on the core Salesforce platform ✅ Uses the 360 data model in Data Cloud for segmentation and activation ✅ Enables data triggered events ✅ Allows direct access to Data Cloud unified profile attributes for template personalization ✅ Uses Flow Builder for journey orchestration ✅ Includes Email and SMS ✅ Generative AI functionality for building campaigns (segments, templates, content, messaging flow) ✅ Targeted for small B2B businesses While this product is targeted for small B2B businesses, it does give you a glimpse into where Salesforce is heading with their marketing offerings and Data Cloud centric approach. Parity between MCGE and MCAE (formerly Pardot) is not quite there, but this will likely be the first step in the product's evolution. Some of the generative AI functionality we're seeing in MCGE will be integrated with MCE (Marketing Cloud Engagement) and MCAE as Salesforce builds a bridge to offer those features to their broader marketing audience. The latest Spring '24 release for Marketing Cloud Engagement includes generative AI to build targeted audience segments in Data Cloud and activate to MCE. Marketing Cloud Engagement is a powerful Enterprise B2C and B2B marketing platform that offers more flexibility. This is something Salesforce will need to account for as this suite of marketing products evolve. Features like: ✅ AMPscript and SSJS for custom logic and script activities ✅ Advanced landing page functionality for building single page web apps ✅ Mobile in-app, push, and inbox messaging ✅ Custom logging, offer assignment, and redemption (would require another offering like Loyalty Cloud) Exciting times for Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud customers as these features continue to expand.
