According to Paul Mozur and Adam Satariano in The New York Times, Ukraine is now a ‘Silicon Valley for autonomous drones’, as a result of pressure to outthink the enemy and growing interest from international investors. The nation has rapidly become a world leader in autonomous drone #technology, which industry experts believe are the next big technological jump for Ukraine’s frontline. Manufacturers like Skyeton, a member of the UK-Ukraine TechExchange cohort, are combining long-range drone technology with #AI to pave the way for a new era of #DroneTech. With more overseas investment and greater government backing, the next step will be to #scale the technology, which will be fundamental to Ukraine’s victory. In the face of adversity, innovation shines brightest 💥 and so shines on the pages of the The New York Times, our AI-driven drone swarms capable of executing complex missions with minimal human intervention. Our autonomous drones have proven especially effective in countering jamming attempts that disrupt communications between drone and pilot. With our technology, a single operator can command multiple drones, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing the risk to human life. While actively testing our solutions, we are getting ready for something bigger. 👀 As Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation noted, “We already have systems that can be mass-produced, and they're now extensively tested on the front lines, which means they’re already actively used.” Featuring Swarmer and more military tech comrades from Kyiv, Paul Mozur and Adam Satariano juxtapose the Western debate on ethical AI with the situation in the frontline trenches. As Ukraine continues to defend its freedom in trenches, the debate around AI’s role in warfare is not merely theoretical — it is a matter of survival. We at Swarmer are committed to leveraging AI to protect our defenders and citizens, ensuring that our innovations are both ethically grounded and practically indispensable. Our mission is to create a safer, more efficient battlefield, ultimately saving lives and securing our nation’s future: “We need to win first. To do that, we will do everything we can to introduce automation to its maximum to save the lives of our soldiers," said Fedorov. ... "You’ll now be able to fly with five or 10 drones at the same time," say we. https://lnkd.in/eYNHE9Vg #Innovation #Ukraine #Swarmer #AI #Defense Vyriy Drone D3 Venture Capital Firm Eveline Buchatskiy Stuart Russell DevDroid LLC Eric Schmidt roboneers Skyeton Sergey Kuprienko

The object detection, classification and tracking algorithms in use on these drones is eerily similar to what we’ve had in place for the past four years in HABscope V2. Except that we can track and classify over 100 moving targets in a frame… https://lnkd.in/eZ8-rvrn

Interesting article I'd recommend reading it for anyone interested in the topic.
Vyriy Drone latest AI targeting technology has been featured in The New York Times today! The article spotlights our CEO, Oleksii Babenko, demonstrating our drone's autonomous AI targeting abilities. In the test, the drone followed Oleksii on his motorcycle, using its camera and software to keep up without any manual control. Our work is part of Ukraine's growing UAV tech landscape, where innovation is driven by necessity and strong support from various sectors. We’re developing technology that makes a real difference on the battlefield , pushing the limits of what’s possible in drone and defense tech! Check out the full story to see what we’re up to and how we’re contributing to the future of autonomous drones. https://lnkd.in/eYNHE9Vg

In just the last few months, the battlefield has undergone a transformation like never before, with visions from science fiction finally coming true. Robotic systems have been set free, authorized to destroy targets on their own. Ukraine’s front lines have become saturated with thousands of drones…They are designed to operate without human oversight, unleashed to hunt in areas where Russian jamming prevents other drones from working. And we are just at the start. The battlefield applications of AI are quickly expanding from swarming drones to information warfare and beyond, and each new type raises new questions. #ai #dronewarfare #digitaltransformation #futurism #unmannedsystem

AI-powered ARMS RACE The #AI community is getting distracted by OpenAI Q* (pronounced Q star) model, that is able to perform grade-school-level math. If true, this is a great engineering breakthrough. All the engineers (whom we are), get excited.. ...and our #AI community loses track on WHY Sam Altman got fired in the first place. In this slide deck, I am coming back to the big picture: ➡ the story of an ARMS RACE This story starts with Computer Vision installed on surveillance drones Then progress in engineering leads AI to: ➡ recommend targets, ➡ optimize the logistics, ➡ streamline the workflow of decision-making for the attack ➡ coordinate conventional forces OpenAI is progressively involved in this AI-powered ARMS RACE. ☢ autonomous, nuclear-armed underwater drones are now discussed. All infos come from reputable sources, duly quoted on each slide.

🚀 The future of warfare is here, and it's both fascinating and concerning. Autonomous killer robots are increasingly becoming a reality on the battlefield. Ukraine is at the forefront, utilizing AI-driven drones and autonomous gun turrets to enhance combat efficiency and safety. 🔐 These advancements highlight the significant impact of AI in modern conflicts, raising both strategic advantages and ethical questions. 😇 In the media, we see discussions about the EU's AI Act, the Future of AI Innovation Act, the U.S. A.I. Safety Institute, and support for the CREATE AI Act, which aim to regulate and ensure the ethical use of AI. Yet, we also witness the deployment of autonomous weapons in real-world scenarios. 💣 👾 🔥 This mix shows how complicated and conflicting the development and use of AI can be. 🤷♀️ Explore the full story to understand the implications and innovations in this emerging field: https://lnkd.in/eU5mb3zc #AI #Warfare #Technology #Innovation #Ethics #FutureOfWar #AutonomousWeapons #AIRegulation #AIAct

The distinguished Raul Alvarez is an early adopter on RAINCLOUD, our invitation-only global #business and #knowledge hub for the #Defense + AI ecosystem. He has written a great RAINCLOUD-exclusive Industry Thought Leadership article in which he argues that the existing #AI / #machinelearning algorithms and #computervision architectures in #autonomoussystems have limitations. Developing the next generation of AI detection and targeting #algorithms, which cannot be confused by "smart human minds", will take time. In the AI era, masking is crucial for survival. Systems like Kallisto AI's Shield (also featured on RAINCLOUD's Digital Defense Show) can limit the acquisition of electromagnetic signatures, display different signatures to obscure the identity of #military assets, inject poisoned signatures into enemy AI algorithms, and increase survivability by concealing, simulating, and altering building signatures. The article also mentions the excellent work of RAINCLOUD member COL John Antal (US Army, retired). Interested in joining RAINCLOUD?
