Amazing step in setting up the first Sainik School for Girls! Raising in the military order in young age is tough with co-education environment. In enabling senior classes to be leaders, adminstration need to give away more freedom to students. Western frameworks closely knitted, it can result in lasting mental impressions and it further becomes confusion with teacher and parental pampering. EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION Yesterday I shared a document by #NATO on the use by Hamas of Human Shields https://lnkd.in/d-mWhXTa Although it is damning and important to share, perhaps more depressing is the long term consequences of the culture and education system created by Hamas and their supporters (and funded by many international organizations/other countries). I don't expect you to watch this all but it shows the way kids are educated and until this changes we will not see a lasting peace. Those who deny this will say that it is Israel's actions that lead to this but even if there is a component related to the cycle of conflict which breeds violence, there is a fundamental truth behind this education and 7th October massacre that can't be blamed on Israel. It is a fundamental desire as Golda Meir stated that 'We will only have peace with [them] when they love their children more than they hate us'. The system is built on the basis that the Jews have no place in the Middle East. Would it be better if we stopped fighting? Unfortunately NO - the hatred will continue until we are gone from here. We would just be hastening it through weakness. We don't teach our kids to hate, in fact the opposite, despite the pain of the terrorist atrocities and wars waged. I won't despair - I pray for eventual peace but one which doesn't guarantee our end from this land and this world. For those who want us gone (Anti-semites) of course we should give up and of course it is our fault - everything always is.

Teaching the 10 Commandments to your children can simply be seen as a way to help them understand right and wrong. We must live by these rules as Christians but also as members of society. Teaching children the Ten Commandments highlights the values we should live by to lead a Godly life and be good people. #lovethetenandlivethepromise #squeezetencommandments

…And now one for KS5 (16-18+): Natives by Akala. Maybe should start a book club again!? Could work for KS4 (14/15) too, maybe year 11? Another one I’ve shared before, but for older teens who want to read a critical, thoughtful and multilayered narrative (with lived experience) about race and racism in the UK, Empire, immigration, education, history, culture and more, Natives is brilliant. I could read and listen to Akala all day. In fact, I re-read and re-watch his work because I always learn so much. This would also be a perfect read for a book club, and the chapter sections are short too, so ideal for a lunchtime book club with even just one question, ‘what did we learn from this bit?’ ‘Thoughts on Akala’s experiences?’ I can’t recommend this book enough.
