Ray Zinn (SJSU Lucas College of Business alum, 1968) is an inspiration to many of us. He is the longest serving CEO in Silicon Valley having co-founded Micrel in 1978. He founded a semiconductor company without venture capital and ran it for 37 years. He lost his ability to see weeks before his company went public, yet led it for 20 years. His book Tough Things First is a good summer read and has interesting insights for anyone who wants to succeed in starting and running their own company or just need life lessons My favorite Ray Zinn quote is: “Learn to love what you don’t love doing, or it will never get done.” Our alumni make us proud! Thank you for being a beacon of inspiration and resilience Ray Zinn ! Adriana Avila Anu Basu Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at SJSU

4moThank you for the suggestion, Dean! I just bought the audiobook and am excited to gain knowledge from Ray while commuting, doing dishes, and walking my dogs. I typically listen to about two audiobooks a week to make the most of my downtime and I highly recommend them to all students.
