The anticipated launch of the Spartan Real Estate Association (SREA) Club at the Lucas College of Business (LCoB) at SJSU took place earlier this week as 90 enthusiastic students joined the inaugural session. The SREA has been established to expose students to the multiple career paths in the dynamic real estate industry and to assist in the procurement of alumni mentorship’s, internships, and post-graduate careers for the student members. Future SREA programs will feature real estate industry speakers, career development coaching and alumni networking sessions.
The meeting was kicked-off by Dean Rangapriya (Priya) Kannan who shared that the SREA is the 1st step in a comprehensive effort to establish a Real Estate program at the LCoB that will include an Alumni support network and a three-course certificate in Real Estate. We encourage Spartan real estate alumni and community members to come forward to serve as student industry mentors, Club and classroom speakers, sources for internships and full-time employment and/or event underwriters.
The next meeting of the SREA, scheduled for September 23rd in the Student Union, will feature a presentation that addresses career opportunities in Commercial Real Estate Brokerage, 3rd party real estate specific skill development programs and a networking session with five Spartan real estate alumni.
