Looking for live in dog care or dog sanctuary to live or work. Actress/personal assistant/photographer/researcher/coach/writer/environmentalist/stylist/photoshop
The problem has been the time allowed to place, and euthanizing before the owner can find a lost dog or a rescue can intervene. If you truly are no kill you will work to transfer dogs and work to find fosters. I’m sure the shelters with a very low kill rate had a lot to say, of course terminally ill but there are actually hospice sometimes and fosters willing to step in…obviously if there isn’t, euthanization can happen. Knowing that dogs will be euthanized is causing more dumps, than release of custody. We need more sanctuaries, where people like Lee Asher are willing to see these dogs through to the end and fundraise for them. They don’t always make it, but they knew love…from the first day to the last. Have compassion. Buddha could speak every language, even dog, because he had compassion and knew, energetically speaking, we are the same. Dog=god. No other animal has given service as much as dog, they deserve a chance to be trained, train the trainers. The dog daddy is offering free training to shelters for very aggressive dogs. Mostly it is fear or lack of training. Some dogs are built for service, like the German shepherd, they need to work, stay busy and exert energy! Kennel anxiety is to be expected! It’s Not a reason to euthanize…please have compassion! I’m begging you to share resources! Why are some shelters so horribly underfunded and understaffed? South LA ? San Antonio? Share money, staff?

This photo from the annual Best Friends Animal Society conference is creating a buzz among Animal Control Officers and Municipal Shelter Staff. It is clear Best Friends recognizes the term “no-kill” is divisive. Why not use a different slogan? The term no kill is still all those things to a lot of people and it hurts. Just as Best Friends is doing great work to help animals, it’s time to start doing that work to help the people who are helping the animals. This is a people problem and not a cat problem. People not spaying and neutering their animals and then either throwing them outside or allowing them to roam freely without being altered produces more kits and kittens, and quickly turns into a huge problem with overpopulation. The first step is spaying and neutering, and TNRing (Trap, Neuter, Return )cats that can't be placed in homes due to either socialization issues or just too many cats and not enough owners. This will stop the endless cycle of more kittens being born, and hopefully, the ones that remain outside will be provided with food and shelter until they die. The numbers will then thin out naturally. The life cycle of an outdoor cat is 1-5 years vs an indoor owned cat of 12-18 years. A municipality can also assist with tighter regulations and ordinances regarding ownership limits, registrations, required veterinarian care requirements, and spay/neuter requirements, all within the guidelines of the state laws of the state they are located in. In no way should these animals be harmed, and instead start fining the hell out of those causing the problems by not spaying and neutering/ keeping their animals contained/ harming animals, and using that money to help the animals.

Yikes! This is in a local city page where I am at and they are looking for some help! Sometimes this happens. Code Enforcement and/or animal control can definitely assist. Working with cats 🐈 🐈⬛ can be tricky because they can be deemed free roaming animals and have may no owner. Sometimes it's residents that create circumstances that create this attractive nuisance and that can be mitigated. Hopefully the jurisdiction and animal services will take the appropriate action to help out the residents complaining about the urine and feces being created by these feline friends. 4LEAF, Inc. #codeenforcement #animalservices

Did you know that many backyard breeders in Manitoba breed animals solely for profit, with no regard for individual animal health and well-being? Puppies are often sold to anyone willing to pay, all while the province struggles to reduce a growing dog overpopulation crisis. Data highlights of this week in animal sheltering. First, Best Friends Animal Society released their 2023 annual report, which contains some really interesting insights. It's a rich report and well-worth reading: https://lnkd.in/gptWs7aZ Second, Shelter Animals Count showed despite popular beliefs, July 5 is NOT the highest intake day of the year, it's the third. Any guesses as to the busiest intake day for US shelters?
