Hope this message finds you well,
I’ve been meaning to reach out for a long time but I was waiting for the right moment when I have finished my research &gathered the data…I have established a platform for women In Automotive, where we work on providing working & training opportunities for women in the sector 4 free. Why do we do what we do, because the total percentage of women in the industry as a whole sum in Jordan is 1%!!
Yes there are alot of challenges coming from multiple aspects; a great contributor to this barely existing percentage lays on the hands of well reputable companies who wave the flag of women empowerment when in reality women are hired in the “pretty” positions!
Knowing the statistics that this 1%, 85% are bachelor degree holders, while the 99% of men are 52% below high school level!
Only 11% of men working the industry hold a bachelor degree!!!!
Our initiative is the only platform that is working on putting women in the workforce in the technical department not only managing roles or marketing!
52% of these women are engineers,to be put behind a pretty desk isn’t really empowering!
Our initiative is working day and night to provide a highly equipped women in the right place, & yet we face rejection and mockery “ بشو بدك تمكنيها للمرأة"
I am well aware that this is part of the journey of leading a change, just as much as i am aware that I alone cannot succeed!
We are in need for a media platform to support our cause and help us drive the right and proper attention to it, hence this message.It’s about time that someone raises the claim! This 1% is rooted back to schools, driving awareness to girls on possible career opportunities, rooted back to universities bullying girls out of this field, & finally rooted back to media ignoring this issue.
This is exactly what we have worked on with the Crown Prince Foundation,we toured public schools & raised awareness towards career paths for women in auto, but we didn’t manage to have any media platform who are willing to cover our actions.“women empowerment old news”. We are making a difference, but we lack the highlights because its not a “TikTok trend”. We need the platform that supports the importance of our message and mission. To close my message, I am asking for WOMOTIVE to have the fair support deserved for the efforts that are disrespected by professional companies because simply our IG followers count is less than 2k! Because we simply refuse to buy followers, do fake campaigns, we are authentic! We know that exposure needs time, and measurable success needs efforts. Thats why I am reaching today and not yesterday; because we worked and crossed milestones & today we have numbers to talk about, facts to share and we ran out of “lets give them the benefit of the doubt”. today we are ready to start the conversation the right way! I look forward to hearing from you
