I'm following a few partnership leaders here, and noticed a few common struggles of partner teams: - There's a gap between partner and sales teams few have cracked the code on cultivating good relationships between partners and sales units. - often, there's a lack of understanding within the organization of what partnerships are all about - companies that want to invest in partnerships are either: *struggling to find the best approach or *are simply starting it because they think it's a "quick revenue boost" Here's a "secret" sauce we are using to overcome some of the obstacles: - Get your partners and sales folks to play nice together. Start by making them hang out more - maybe throw some workshops or set shared goals. They need to get that they're all on the same team. - Make sure everyone knows what the game plan is. We're not just looking for a quick cash grab here. Building partnerships is all about long-term relationships and commitment. - Lastly, put some serious effort into making a solid partner program. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will this be. But the payoff can be huge. Break down those walls, make a plan, and stick to it. Partnerships is a Go-To-Market Strategy. You don't have to be a grown up company to use it. It can be your GTM from the very first sale if you want it to be. Where it breaks down is if you're trying to use it alongside other GTMs without giving it the same kind of resources. Or when other GTMs aren't working so you just bolt it on hoping that it will give you instant returns. It requires just as much time, money, attention, and thought as any other GTM. Perhaps more. But if you invest in it properly and build it steadily it can reap boundless rewards.

For our third lesson, we looked at what it means to “𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.” ✅In addition to your internal staff, your external #business partners, such as #franchisees, #licensees, #subcontractors, and key #suppliers, all play a crucial role in supporting the growth of your business. The insights shared by the speakers regarding their understanding of franchisees can be applied to other external team members as well. They emphasized the importance of learning. Who are they? What are their capabilities? What are their aspirations and motivations? What are their fears and limitations? It is essential to assign tasks and responsibilities to your business partners and franchisees that align with their capabilities, motivations, and aspirations. If there are critical functions in your enterprise that do not fit well with their skills and interests, it is better for your direct staff to handle those or find an alternative, suitable source. ✨For Kidogo, the #production of porridge was an essential function, but it did not align well with the capabilities of its franchisees, and ensuring quality and efficiency was challenging. As a result, Kidogo continues to perform this function internally. ✨Similarly, for EarthEnable, #sales and #marketing are essential functions that their franchisees are currently not well-suited to handle, so these tasks remain with the EarthEnable staff. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞: ➡️𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.
