Three months of immersive creativity and dynamic teamwork concludes my summer internship @TikTok! What started as a fascinating opportunity to delve into the live-streaming domain has transformed into an experience that has enriched both my professional skills and personal growth. From spearheading cross-regional collaborations to experiencing being a partnerships agency manager, and crunching monthly revenue numbers, I seized every opportunity. I penned a recruitment strategy paper and even had the chance to present it at our Agency Day & Open House. From idea to execution, my summer stint working for TikTok LIVE UK has been a journey of turning mere concepts into full-fledged deliverables. One of the most remarkable aspects of this internship has been the opportunity to connect with professionals who are not only experts in their fields but also genuinely passionate about pushing the boundaries of digital expression. Whether it was working with Rami Shamel on campaign education, brainstorming with Greg McPherson Seward on video concepts to boost creator engagement, watching everyone on the LIVE team beat Alex Ciminata at table tennis or simply chatting with Chloe Cara about her life as a content creator, the friendships forged, lessons learned, and memories made will undoubtedly stay with me as I navigate future endeavours. Thank you to my manager Sofia Poblano and the entire Agency team for taking me in as one of their own, trusting me to lead initiatives and never saying no. I am concluding this internship with not just a new skill set, but also a deeper appreciation for what it takes to run a live-streaming platform. This experience has solidified my aspiration to pursue a career path that merges creativity with strategy, and TikTok has provided the perfect backdrop for this realization. In addition, I also want to thank my graduate buddy Ayra Thanveer & the Early Careers team! Without their guidance, mentoring sessions & planned workshops, this scheme wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable. While the chapter of my summer internship may be coming to an end, I am filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude when announcing my continuation @TikTok as a part-time employee whilst simultaneously completing my final year @King's College London ❤️

For the past month, I have had the wonderful opportunity of completing an Internship at Jollywise a world-renowned creative agency focused on making digital content for young people and families. As this chapter comes to a close, I'm taking a moment to look back on how much I've grown and the skills I have gained. Being a part of a creative company has been incredibly motivating, especially as an aspiring illustrator. Immersed in a team of talented creatives, I've found huge inspiration during my time here. Observing how Jollywise infuses projects with fun and innovation has been pleasant. My main objective during my internship was to design a hypothetical online game, an experience I thoroughly enjoyed! I rotated through various departments, gaining an insight into how creative agencies work. I started with account management and business development, learning how to build and care for good relationships with clients and overseeing the planning behind projects. This experience shaped my understanding of balancing artistic vision with practical execution. I shadowed account managers, attended meetings, and got a first-hand feel for the process. In my second week, I joined the design team! I was part of brainstorming sessions and met with the creative minds. The highlight was when I started to create and design my own game, a chance to blend my creativity and design skills into a captivating concept. Presenting my ideas to the team brought valuable feedback for improvement, which I took on board. Week three was a deep dive into the production team. Collaborating closely with project managers and game developers, I assessed the viability of my game idea. Once confirmed, I outlined costs and mapped out a production schedule. This required sharp planning and a mastery of tools like Smart Sheets. Client meetings boosted my skills and enriched my industry insights. I dedicated my final days at Jollywise to refining designs, fine-tuning costs, and perfecting the game concept. I presented my game pitch to the team and their enthusiastic feedback not only validated the quality of my work but also celebrated my presentation skills. Their positive response filled me with confidence and a sense of accomplishment. I'm very thankful for the guidance, support, and friendship I experienced at Jollywise. With the skills I've gained, lessons I've learned, and memories I've created, I'm eager to move forward confidently with more knowledge and confidence. My maiden post on LinkedIn and it had to be my reflection on an enriching chapter as a Brand strategist  and Business Analyst Intern at Beats by Dre which had me buzzing with excitement. I dug  into customer exploration to take apart the resurgence of over-ear earphones among the dynamic Gen Z. Every disclosure turned into a breadcrumb prompting the entrancing 'why' behind this attractive pattern. I meticulously studied the genesis of this resurgence amongst the Gen Z which revealed layers causing this timeless trend. The key factors influencing this rise whet  appetite for over-ear headphones  in the audio industry. Yesterday, I completed my Summer internship at TuneIn and it was the best 3 months of my professional life. Here's 5 reasons why👇 🚀 Enormous Technical Growth I had to navigate an entirely new tech stack (gRPC, Redis, Golang, Kafka and more) to drive new features on the Platform team. Learning these tools during my break before the internship allowed me to hit the ground running. My time at TuneIn gave me valuable insights into their best practices and trade-offs for building distributed systems. 🏢 Real Business Value  Christine Xu, my manager, made sure that I tackled real challenges. My main project was to integrate live-streaming metadata for radio stations, enhancing user experience for search and content discovery on the platform. Continued interest not only from Platform, but also from Product and Data Engineering teams, kept me motivated throughout. 👨💻 Technical Mentorship I was mentored by Joseph Altmaier, a Staff Software Engineer and a fellow #tartan. His deep industry experience and patience as a mentor profoundly influenced my success. Rather than giving me the answers, he would encourage me to think outside the box and nudge me to explore ways to refine my solutions, while being open to push-backs and questions. His approach made my accomplishments all the more gratifying. 💻 Teamwork with Software Experts I also had the opportunity to learn from numerous other members on the Platform team. Whether it was through Slack messages, pair programming sessions on Zoom, PR reviews on GitHub, or feedback on Confluence pages, the collaborative spirit was undeniable. For three months, I genuinely felt like an integral member of the Platform team 👏 Incredible Work-Culture  TuneIn's hybrid work model and Agile approach ensured productivity. Respecting time and emphasizing personal well-being are at the core of their culture, fostering a high-performing team characterized by unwavering motivation and a laser-focused work ethic.
