With the efficacy and safety of intermittently fasting recently thrust into news headlines, we thought providing our perspective would be helpful. As with any nutritional protocol, there are nuances to be aware of and there is no “one size fits all” approach that works for everyone. See our article "Eat. Stop. Eat." for a bit about these nuances and how they might apply to you. https://lnkd.in/eSyRa68s #functionalnutrition #personalizedmedicine #intermittentfasting #timerestrictedeating #personalhealth #foodasmedicine

March is National Nutrition Month, and this year’s theme is “Beyond the Table,” which illuminates all aspects of food from production to distribution and all aspects of eating from around the table to on-the-go. We can celebrate how nourishment encompasses more than just food by involving community, relationships, activities that bring joy and fulfillment, and how we can celebrate ourselves and each other. We also recognize that nutrition can be a difficult topic for someone struggling with their relationship to food or their body. Nutrition plays a crucial role in the treatment and recovery from eating disorders, and an individualized plan is essential to address the unique needs and challenges that people with eating disorders face. If you have an RD who supports you on your journey, feel free to give them a shout out here or the next time you see them! #NationalNutritionMonth #RegisteredDietitian #RD #edrecovery #recoveryispossible #prorecovery #eatingdisorderawareness #eatingdisordersupport

Still hungry after eating? It might be due to what you ate rather than how much. Empty calories, types of food, and lack of nutrients can leave your body craving more. In contemporary society, the terms "diet" and "meal plan" are frequently conflated, yet they hold distinct meanings. A diet encompasses a comprehensive, enduring strategy for eating that prioritizes overall nutrition and health objectives. Conversely, a meal plan is a temporary tactic that furnishes precise instructions regarding food choices and timing. As a professional, I prescribe diets to address medical conditions, whereas I recommend meal plans for sustaining a healthier lifestyle. It's crucial to acknowledge that diets often foster unhealthy fixations and can contribute to the development of eating disorders.

📍Food can be a powerful ally on our health journey —Healthy Food! Today, I want to share an important lesson from my "Diet Therapy" course. I recently got to practice creating calming meal plans for specific patient needs. Dietary interventions varies upon the disease, metabolic changes, nutritional status and the severity of problems.which is why certain medical conditions requires specific nutritional intervention to manage symptoms and prevents complications My group's case involved a 40-year old woman with Crohn's disease, experiencing discomfort like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss. The goal was to design a diet plan that eased inflammation, supported gut health, and helped manage these symptoms. To achieve this we decided to prepare boiled potatoes and vegetable fish sauce served with enough watermelon 😊 This experience truly emphasized the amazing impact of food as a source of comfort and healing. Diet therapy goes beyond simply treating illness; it's a gentle and powerful tool for maintaining health and preventing disease. A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, wholegrains and lean protein are essential for overall health and well-being. I'm so excited about the new things I'm being exposed to as a student dietitian/nutritionist and trust me to always share with you here the lessons or knowledge i glean. Do you ever see yourself having a diet plan for food? I'll be in the comments🙃. #studentnutritionist #lautech #dietandhealth The video attached to this is a video of myself am my teammates
