Siemens Digital Industries Software’s Post

Sustainability is the need of the hour. It can also reduce the hourly operational costs. Consider the example of modularity and consequent upgradability. By developing those, you can upgrade your existing product, provide the value that the customer needs, and not waste resources on things that are unimportant. Similarly, when trying to save energy costs, CO2 emissions are reduced in tow. Sustainability isn’t hard—you’re (probably) already doing It. That’s one of the chief lessons Eryn Devola, our head of sustainability, handed down to manufacturing leaders at Realize Live Americas earlier this year. In her experience, profitability and sustainability overlap most of the time. Eryn said, “There’s a good chance you’re already doing some of this by reducing waste and getting rid of waste. Whether this is in your throughput, whether it’s in your scrap production, whether it’s in eliminating a substance that you don’t want to have to manage anymore. All of these things help you become more effective. They also help you become more sustainable.” Click the link in our comments to further explore the link between sustainability and sound business practices. #Sustainability #SustainableBusiness #TechForSustainability
