Congratulations to all graduates of all Yonkers High Schools! So many students feel intense pressure with life when change happens and what feels like an insurmountable decision. Not every student knows what they want past high school. However, in my opinion many more would benefit from a college degree. Over the past several years the percentage of high school graduates pursuing college has dropped dramatically. Mayor Spano and all educators in Yonkers Schools have done a wonderful job improving the overall high school graduation rate. They’re also focused on success beyond graduation. As a college president, I firmly believe in the value of a #collegeeducation that is #careerspecific such as that which we offer at the The College of Westchester. We rank 6th for social mobility for regional colleges north per US News. That’s an education with results. Our focused curriculum and accelerated format allows a student to obtain a bachelor’s degree in three years. Shorter time in college and an emphasis on a chosen career path allows for faster job entry with results. As a graduate, and President, I highly encourage all students to consider pursuing college. Parents, it is not too late for your graduating senior to apply, get accepted and enroll! We also offer associate degrees, certificates and accelerated study for adults on campus or online. https://lnkd.in/eZ2pMCjB I’d love to see you at CW!
Today is the day! This morning we start our series of graduations for the Class of 2024. To the parents, families, teachers, and students thank you for your dedication and commitment. We are so proud of you!
