The Columbus office recently hosted a summer associate social at Pickle and Chill, where everyone had a blast playing pickleball and showcasing their competitive side. The event was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and team spirit, and it was a perfect opportunity for associates to bond and enjoy some summer fun together. #Shumaker #Columbus #associate

Have you ever tried the Peter Skillman Marshmallow Challenge? It's a team-building game that challenges teams to build the tallest possible freestanding tower that can support a marshmallow at its peak. Our Director of Culture and Talent, Meredith Pond, PHR, SHRM-SCP had our team members compete at last week's State of the Company meeting. Here's what we learned—when people focus too much on building a perfect structure (assuming the marshmallow is light) things tend to collapse at the last minute. So, it's important to spot those hidden assumptions in our projects and give prototypes a shot early in the game. Here's a handy link if you'd like instructions to try it with your team too: https://lnkd.in/gmSF7G6 #teambuilding

Triad's nationwide sales team united in St. Louis for three days of learning, laughter, and team bonding. We reflected on incredible achievements in 2023 and planned for 2024, all while having a whole lot of fun! We started off with a delicious dinner at Edera, where the dinner table turned into a comedy club - fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared joy. The next day we gained insights from thought-provoking presentations by department heads across design, customer service, engineering, finance, marketing, and installation. Engaging with experts from different departments provided us with a multitude of invaluable insights, enhancing our collective knowledge. Amen (our GM of facilities and production) guided us through the factory, showcasing our ongoing projects, machines, and investments. A significant investment for us was the construction of our new storage building. Wrapping up the experience, we had a blast at Top Golf, connecting with more members of our fantastic team and revealing some impressive skills among our team members. Triad is more than a team; it's a big, supportive family. We consistently have an incredible time whenever we come together, and we hope you have the opportunity to experience working with the Triad family. Working with us means not only getting industry experts but also a team that knows how to have a good time! #WeAreTriad #ContinuousLearning #TeamExpertise #TeamEnrichment #TeamLearning #TeamSpirit #TeamCollaboration #RetailExperience #RetailFixtures #TeamBonding #Collaboration #TeamCelebration #TeamUnity #WorkCulture #WorkEnvironment #EmployeeMorale #TeamAppreciation #EmployeeOwned #WorkExperience

💫 Embracing Creativity and Diversity at orderbird – Together we soar 💫 Diversity is a crucial part of my life and is a fundamental value for me 🏳️🌈. Immersing myself in various cultures and perspectives has deeply influenced my outlook. These experiences have taught me to appreciate the world through different viewpoints and cherish the unique stories everyone brings. 🌍 💖 At orderbird, these values shine through in the most innovative ways. One of my favorite traditions is the Lego Bird Challenge for our New Birds (new team members) during their Welcome Day. 🐦 🎉 New Birds have just 3 minutes to create a bird from Lego and then present it to the team with a name and a brief story. This engaging activity stems from Design Thinking, a powerful approach that fosters problem-solving through creativity and collaboration. 🧠 💡 The Lego Bird Challenge serves multiple key purposes: 1. Icebreaker: It makes New Birds feel welcome and part of our diverse community from day one. 2. Creativity Boost: It encourages out-of-the-box thinking and highlights the unique perspectives each person brings. 3. Team Bonding: It builds a sense of community and belonging, essential for a thriving and innovative workplace. This challenge celebrates the diversity each team member brings to our nest, reminding us that every bird counts and every story adds value to our collective journey. 🚀 💫 Being part of orderbird is a daily reminder of how diversity and creativity fuel innovation and success. Here’s to a workplace where everyone can thrive and reach new heights! 🙌 🎉 #diversity #inclusion #designthinking #teambuilding #innovation #orderbird #workculture #welcomeday #creativity #empathy #teamspirit

The 2 biggest things I learned as employee #22 at GoSpotCheck all the way to acquisition (and what Jelly Roll has to do with it): 1. Growth start-ups are wild roller-coasters. 2. Trying to predict the future by looking at the last 6 months or 1 year is nearly impossible. Sometimes it’s because there isn't enough historical data to do it reliably. More often than not, it’s because the landscape changes so quickly. The market changes. Your product changes. The competition changes. Technology changes (hello, Gen-AI) Looking back in time to predict the future is pretty limiting. Kind of like trying to navigate the rollercoaster with a blindfold. So building a forecast model by only looking at historical data Then ‘dragging the formula cell to the right’ It’s definitely not ideal. Back to Jelly Roll… He put it best when he won Artist of the Year: “I want to tell you that the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason because what's in front of you is so much more important than what's behind you!" #fpanda #sales #growth

President @ Starling Social + award-winning marketer. Publishing online since 2002. Doing data-driven marketing to help businesses thrive.
I’m celebrating Starling Social’s 10-year anniversary by sharing some lessons I’ve learned along the way 🎊 Next up: charge what you’re worth 💸 Look, I get it, when you’re first starting out it’s tempting to charge bottom-of-the barrel prices just to get clients through the door But this has two unintended effects: One, It drags down the perceived value of the work that you and others in your industry are doing... and two, it means that you’re paying your team less money to do more work for more clients. (Which can cause them to burn out faster and, in my view, isn't respectful of their time and efforts.) This approach also often leads to lower-quality output because they’re trying to get through everything as fast as possible instead of spending the time needed to get it right. So do yourself and our industry a favour and don’t under-charge your clients! Show that you value the work you and your team do by charging fairly, and give your clients the kind of high-quality results and effort they deserve 💜 I’ve still got more reflections and insights to share as we celebrate Starling Social turning 10, so stay tuned! #winnipeg #womeninbusiness #businessowner #manitoba #marketingtips

Team Tuesday & Employee Spotlight! We hope everyone had a great long weekend and enjoyed that incredible weather. Today's McClay's spotlight is with Brandan Mutton (he's kind of a big deal on the ball diamond) who works for McClay's Transportation as an Account Manager. Q: Brandan could you explain in a bit more detail a little bit about your role at McClay's and some of the day to day activity: A: My main focuses are building and managing strong relationships with our amazing customers. I enjoy building strong relationships with potential customers and helping them to make good business decisions. I am also heavily involved in cross functional collaboration. I work closely with sales, marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure the success of our business and our customers businesses. Q: What do you enjoy most about working at McClay's: A: I really enjoy how McClay's has kept their values as they have grown to where they are today. Being a hometown kid, I have got to watch the McClay's family grow this business from the ground up. Troy and Ryan McClay have done a great job at keeping the small family run business feeling (we a agree with the culture that we have here), while building this great local business up to what it is currently. I am excited to be apart of our continued growth and success moving forward. Q: What are some of your interests outside of work: A: Outside of work if you need to find me, check the ball diamonds, golf course, the gym, or spending some down time with the family. Q: Something people might not know about you: A: I secretly love Taco Bell, a couple of Tacos and a Fries supreme just hits the spot right... Thanks for sharing a little bit more about yourself Brandan. The team appreciates everything you do each day to ensure our valued customers have strong communication and support system. #mcclaystransportation #mcclaysdifference #ACCOUNTMANAGEMENT #baseball #golf #gym #family ##familyownedandoperated #localbusiness #culture #supportlocal #communication #TacoBell

Flxpoint knows how to have a kickoff. Custom throwback t's—upbeat presentations—and plenty of time for the team to unwind. Here is a quick highlight reel we put together for their team.
This year’s company kickoff was unlike any other. We got a chance to host it in the old beach house where Flxpoint was born. Luckily for us our ole “lemon house” was recently converted into a private event space and was the perfect venue for a kickoff that featured a nostalgic theme looking at the evolution of the company. Love #jaxbeach, Love our team. #creedcoverband #jacksonvilleflorida #jacksonvillejobs #jacksonville #neptunebeach
