Thank you Roy Samuelson for the chance to share my journey as a blind audio description narrator on The ADNA Presents!  Our conversation explored Audio Description, from being a passionate consumer to actively contributing to its creation. Continually meeting purposeful people in this industry is truly inspiring! While the journey toward inclusion in AD for blind creatives faces challenges due to unequal opportunities, I am proud to work with AD companies that have  welcomed the challenge of integrating an accessible avenue for contribution. Acknowledging the hurdles posed by inaccessible industry workflows, I remain hopeful. My experiences collaborating with these incredible people instills confidence that the inclusion of blind creatives will become commonplace in the future. The future, however, is not today and the steps taken thus far are encouraging, but nowhere near the true destination. Let's go beyond intermittent inclusivity. Begin reaching out to potential buyers from your contacts list 4-6 months before the art fair. Keep engaging with them both before and after the event. Craft a concise pitch highlighting what's unique about each artist and their work, tailored to what typically motivates buyers of an artist's work, such as the artist's renown or the story behind the piece. Offer an incentive to entice people to sign up for your gallery's mailing list. Keep in mind that most visitors to your booth may not purchase immediately. However, art fairs are about nurturing connections and consistent follow-up.
