Cinematic Art: Compositions Part 2 A follow up to my DUNE post. These are some compositions from classic B&W movies. No color but, at the very least, just as artistic as anything you might see today. There's a YouTube page called "Every Frame A Painting", which is a perfect description of some of the art seen in cinema.

#day3 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱... Jerry Uelsmann a professor at the University of Florida, divided his " Film Photography " Students into two groups. Group 1 students would be in the "quantity group" They would be graded on the amount of work they produced. On the final day, he would tally the number of photos submitted by each student. CONDITIONS: One hundred photos would rate A. Ninety photos would rate B. Eighty photos would rate C and so on. Meanwhile, Group 2 students would be in the " quality group " They would be graded only the excellence of their work. CONDITIONS: They would only need to produce one photo during the given time. It's mandatory to get grade A. It had to be a nearly perfect image. Finally, at the end of the term the professor was surprised to find that all the best photos were produced only by the Quality Group. CONCLUSIONS: In our lives we are so focused on figuring out the best approach that we never get around to taking action. #success #selfesteem #confidence #vision365 #lifecoachroufdar

As part of our #SportandArt month we ran a series of online events and webinars with the most recent topic on the subject of digitisation and the art of sporting heritage. But what exactly do we mean by digitisation? ‘Digitising’ museum objects means making copies of physical originals in digital form – for example, by scanning or photographing 2D items or transferring the contents of reels of film or audio tape into digital formats. It can also refer to 3D scanning of objects or, more loosely, any digital photography of collections.’ - Collections Trust’s working definition of ‘digitisation’ The art of preserving sports history is being revolutionised in the digital age and is now an increasingly important aspect of good collection management for any heritage organisation. Should this aspect of managing your collection seem overwhelming, we have pulled extensive resources to help you, which you can find via our toolkit in the “digitising your collection” section. Head over to our website to discover how our toolkit can support you in the digitisation of your sporting heritage collections.: https://bit.ly/3SiFtZh #Digitisation #CollectionManagement #SportingHeritage #ScottishArchivesDay #Digital #Museum #Archive #Heritage #CollectionCare

See you (virtually) February 14th, Cambridge! My talk, "Rethinking the 'Lie': Photography and Truth from Stalin to Putin," will examine one central question: how can exploring the co-option of the photographic medium in the Stalinist era help us reframe strategies of image manipulation and falsification in contemporary Russia?

How reference pictures can be used to perfect the likeness 👇 For each of my sculpt, Frederic COURTOIS & I spend hours searching for references pictures, making screen shoot from movies.... For my Arnold Schwarzenegger model I used almost 200 reference pictures for the face and the body. And I used them to superimpose to my 3D model by adding them in a camera and calculating approximately the focal length. And it's what helps giving the 3D model the likeness. And you how much references do you use for the sculpting ? Let me know in the comment section 💬 #characterartist #arnoldschwarzenegger #sculpting

I don't have a specific piece of awareness art. My art, has not been as clean lined, smooth, as it used to be. my nerve damage is especially problematic when I try to take time for my art. My heart, however tells me to keep trying. Finding other ways to express myself or emote without causing pain, isn't that easy. so, I garden, I paint rocks and distribute Kindness rocks. when I have a day that I can't paint due to pain, I flip through books, magazi especially, and websites, to see if I can change to simpler lines or draw on paper, then paint on a good day. I am hopeful that today will be a paint day. gardens (once the dirt and compost are in) give little bits of activities that I can do. as long as I can get to them, I can do small things, pull young weeds, fertilize, pick greens, collect snails for my ducks- that's a fun for the duck day, not so much for the snails. Finding an outlet you can work with is living #zebrastrong. the histology staining in my banner is my new flavor of art- where it intersects with science.
It's Day 11 of the May Social Media Challenge and today's prompt is 'Awareness Art!' Share your artistic expression of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) or hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD) awareness. It could be a drawing, painting, photograph, or any form of creative expression. Join the challenge: https://lnkd.in/ewZ2qQQG Thank you to Shelby for this amazing zebra feather art! #MyEDSChallenge #MyHSDChallenge
