Shiseido and Shiseido Japan held a makeup seminar for transgender individuals in Tokyo during June's "Pride Month," in collaboration with Rainbow Tokyo Kita-ku, a civic group promoting a diverse society. Professionals from Shiseido Japan served as instructors, providing lectures on the basics of skin care and makeup, suggesting suitable colors using personal beauty color diagnosis and offering individual consultations to address specific concerns, all in an effort to help participants express their true selves. Feedback from participants included comments such as, "I'm glad I was able to get advice on how to draw my eyebrows, which I've been struggling with for years!" and "I feel like I've gotten a little closer to the person I want to be." Going forward, we will continue to work with support groups to support the LGBTQ+ community and aim to realize a society where everyone can live their own lives as their authentic self. #pridemonth #LGBTQ #deandi #lovethedifference

3moPhilanthropy is a huge part of what Shiseido does, but this. THIS! This is everything. This changes people's lives. This makes a real difference. Working in beauty isn't as glamorous as some people on the outside might think it is (sorry to disappoint!), but it can be life-changing. To that one person, to that one consumer. I would often tell my team, particularly when things would get tough or stressful...we aren't saving lives. Because we aren't. But we are changing them. And if we do it right, we'll change it for the better. So proud to have worked for an organization that finds ways to support all people. This is so inspiring and so awesome!
