Combined Task Force (CTF) V-BAT is Embracing Intelligent, Affordable Mass!
CTF V-BAT recently showcased its growing strength as we welcomed dozens of attendees from allied nations onsite at our Batcave and flight ops facility in Texas. We were once again reminded of the urgent needs and emerging threats facing our partners.
Taking lessons learned from ongoing global conflicts, these partners are transitioning to a force structure that blends high-cost assets with intelligent, affordable mass—affordable, intelligent unmanned systems like our MQ-35 V-BAT. This strategic move towards hybrid force structures exemplifies an understanding of the future of warfare, where a mix of high and low-cost assets can achieve greater operational flexibility and deterrence.
The greatest victory requires no war.

In some ways, the current drone problem is identical to the IED problem of yester war:
- They're cheap
- Easy to homebrew
- Easily accessible
- Scalable size and lethality
- Low user training requirements
- Really hard to detect
- Even harder to counter/kill
- Ideal for proxy force enablement
And the defense costs 10,000x the offense
I can't wait to see the pairing of drone swarms and IEDs, guerilla warfare is going to get wild.

The #WarfighterUGV is based off the BIA5#ATR platform, which helped CSIRO's Data61 come second in the world in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) SubT challenge due it ability to traverse complex terrain whilst carrying significant payload.
Further work was done during the Firefighting development program to make the system waterproof and combining simultaneous sensing and effecting, controlled by a single operator.
Best way to test it being waterproof? Spray the two systems at each other.
Last week we attended the Association of Old Crows Collaborative EW symposium.
MACE and ARMOR can provide unrivalled EW planning and mission rehearsal capability.
In the image below you'll see jamming corridors in MACE (black areas) and the same in 3D in ARMOR. In ARMOR, the SA-15 label in the top right is flashing blue indicating that it is being effectively jammed by a blue asset - in this case the Air Launched Effect (ALE) which is a drone fitted with a microjammer. This is covering the approach of the F-15s which are about to enter the SA-15 weapon engagement zone.
MACE and ARMOR offer capabilities far beyond traditional mission planning tools by enabling full spectrum EW analysis, visualization, and iteration of planned courses of action in the presence of 5th generation threat systems.

The Rogue 1™ loitering munition. Deploy. Recover. Reuse.
Rogue 1 is a rapidly deployed, optionally-lethal VTOL small UAS that enables warfighters to conduct precision-strikes against moving or stationary targets. A first-of-its-kind mechanical interrupt allows Rogue 1 to be safely RECOVERED and REUSED when targets are disengaged or missions aborted.
Tactical teams can quickly swap out warhead payloads -- forward fragmenting, explosively formed penetrator (EFP), or training -- based on need.
Burst speeds greater than 70 mph/113 kph and range beyond 10 km.

Ghost, Anduril’s small uncrewed aircraft system, has been added to the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)’s Blue UAS Cleared List. This will enable us to deliver critical capabilities to our national security partners with greater speed and security.
Ghost is Anduril’s autonomous sUAS, built to provide reconnaissance and targeting, electronic warfare, network extension, and effects close to the tactical edge. In close collaboration with government and industry partners, Anduril continues to enhance Ghost’s payload options, contested environment capabilities, and open extensible software. We are grateful to the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), the AFWERX Proving Ground program, and Dark Wolf for their support in achieving this certification so we can continue advancing this technology with operators around the world.

#TacticalArachnids: Redefining Warfare with Spider Bots
In the ever-evolving landscape of modern warfare, the emergence of spider bots heralds a new era of military technology. These ground-based drones, inspired by the agility and versatility of their arachnid namesakes, are poised to revolutionize battlefield tactics and strategy.
Spider bots represent a paradigm shift in military operations, offering a means to limit human exposure on the battlefield while maximizing precision and efficiency. By harnessing advanced sensors and decision-making algorithms, these mechanized warriors can execute targeted strikes with unparalleled accuracy, reducing collateral damage and minimizing risk to friendly forces.
From reconnaissance missions to strategic assaults, spider bots offer a versatile arsenal of capabilities. Their ability to navigate diverse terrain and operate in complex environments makes them invaluable assets for commanders seeking to gain a tactical edge. Moreover, their small size and low profile afford them stealth capabilities, allowing them to infiltrate enemy lines undetected.
At the heart of spider bot technology lies the fusion of human expertise with machine precision. While these autonomous drones are capable of independent action, they are guided by the strategic insights and decision-making of military operators. This human-machine collaboration ensures that spider bots can adapt to evolving battlefield conditions and execute missions with the utmost effectiveness.
Looking ahead, the potential applications of spider bots are limitless. Whether supporting infantry units in urban warfare or conducting covert reconnaissance behind enemy lines, these mechanized arachnids are poised to become indispensable assets in the arsenal of tomorrow's military.
In conclusion, spider bots represent a transformative leap in military technology, offering a potent combination of precision, agility, and efficiency on the modern battlefield. As they continue to evolve and proliferate, these tactical arachnids will undoubtedly shape the future of warfare in profound and unexpected ways.
