☆☆ Two things to face in life for Work ☆☆ 1. Work that you don't want to do (there are people who will do as much as you give) 2. Work that you can't do (You must give as much as they asks)

The work we do. For most of us, we are incredibly privileged to do the kind of work that we do. And even though we complain about this and that, we should never lose sight of how privileged we are to do the amazing work that we do. An opportunity to move the needle, shape the way, and help a thing to progress. We may not always realise it. It may not always feel that way. And it may appear as if we aren’t making an impact. But we must know that that is not the case. We are making an incredible impact in our little corner of the world. Because of the work that we do and how we do it, we make someone’s life easier and sometimes better. Because of our work, someone can put food on their table and support their family. Because of the work that we do, in aggregate, the world is a better place. The daily challenges are there and acknowledged. But what is life without one? The tough times are there and acknowledged. But what is life without one? The disappointments are there and acknowledged. But what is life without one?

I used to spend Saturdays trying to figure out my entire life. Not only was it painful to do but it lasted about five seconds. It turns out that one Saturday is really not enough to figure out every single detail about my life, who knew. Maybe it would have been different on a Sunday? I cannot figure out my entire life in one day or probably even a week. This is how I helped it make sense to me. It is the equivalent of going on a road trip, putting the destination in your GPS, setting cruise control and letting go of the wheel. You are going to get off course and maybe even crash. Life is full of twists and turns, changing lanes, on ramps and off ramps and sometimes even changing your destination. So instead of trying to figure out my entire life on a Saturday I am now just focusing on figuring out the next week. What is It that I want to try in the next week to make my life better? What is it that I need to stop doing next week to make my life better?

Yes, growth is uncomfortable. But even more uncomfortable is staying where you are longer than you should. We are meant to grow, evolve and change. Enjoy your learning journey - the relentless pursuit of knowledge. #nevergiveup #learningeveryday

I got in trouble for taking “too much” time off which was so frustrating because I was not made to live a life where I only get to vacation two weeks out of the year. We have 365 days a year. 104 of which are weekend days. That means 261 days are workdays if you work in the traditional 9 to 5 model. We have 14 days of vacation which means 4% of your year is dedicated to enjoying your life. This lifestyle just didn’t work for me. What I wanted was to work three days a week and for every day to be a permanent summer Friday. I also wanted permanent 4 day weekends. So I went out and created that exact for myself. I was done wearing golden handcuffs living in a 9 to 5 jail.
