Executive Chairman GP Holding, President GI Aqua Tech, Innovation Management, Managing Strategy in Sustainable Innovation

A Significant Success 🚀 - Global Water Intelligence (GWI) & Global Water Summit has selected GI Aqua Tech's project in Makkah as one of the top four industrial wastewater treatment projects worldwide. Choosing #SaudiArabia, one of the most important global markets, for launching GI Aqua Tech was our best strategic decision. The Kingdom has emerged as one of the top global investment destinations, renowned for its commitment to environmental standards and for embracing advanced technologies that promote environmental sustainability. Our nominated project was first recognised by Saudi Green Initiative, which highlighted our distinguished project for treating liquid slaughterhouse waste resulting from sacrificial animals in the city of Mecca. Our project was in collaboration with the Royal Commission for Makkah City & Holy Sites and represented Saudi Arabia at #COP28 as part of the national efforts to preserve the environment and enhance the sustainability of natural resources. The project stands out as a success story in environmental sustainability, unique for its zero waste outcomes. It employed a mobile (Plug & Play) station with a 1000m³/day capacity while utilizing nanotechnology for 100% reuse of treated water. It also neutralized tens of thousands of tons of carbon emissions that would have been released by vehicles disposing of these wastes, thereby mitigating negative traffic, health, and environmental effects. Our project enables on-site reuse of treated water and supports the planting of about 40,000 local trees every 2.5 years as well as achieving up to 80% energy savings and 90% land use reduction. This initiative is a proven local and global model for decentralized treatment, showcasing how modern technology can revolutionize traditional waste management practices. It offers valuable insights for policymakers to consider decentralized treatment plants as a cost-effective alternative to centralized systems, reducing both capital and operational expenses related to sewage network construction and maintenance. Special thanks to our partners in success for achieving this global recognition: Emirate of Makkah Province Royal Commission for Makkah City & Holy Sites وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة Makkah Municipality NWC Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Project For Utilization of Hady & Adahi The Institute of Hajj and Umrah Research معهد خادم الحرمين الشريفين لأبحاث الحج والعمرة   NCECKSA المركز الوطني لإدارة النفايات ( موان ) | National Center for Waste Management Kidana Development Company We are confident in winning the award for the best industrial wastewater treatment project worldwide for 2023, to be announced at the Global Water Summit in London in April and sponsored by Alkhorayef Water & Power Technologies (AWPT)
