#Privacylaws #StateAGs / #PrivacyAgency #Enforcement - 2024 is already hopping. We're hosting a webinar next Tuesday, prioritizing our focus on some of the key #businesspractices at issue, with practical perspectives on how to handle these inquiries should you receive one (and what ❌ not to do). We'll also do a read out on some of the notable commentary/signals from various state enforcement offices over this past month, including the CA Privacy Summit happening today and tomorrow. Once upon a time, Paul Singer sat on the other side of the table from me leading many a #multistate focusing on a wide range of #data / #consumerprotection practices, and, even when the facts were messy 🐻, we managed to resolve a lot of #investigations over the years with 🆒 heads. This time, I get to interview him as a colleague, and look forward to hearing his take on today's developments, how he might have viewed different types of responses to such inquiries, and what factors helped to de-escalate. One thing I can promise: it will not be boring! 🎬 Registration info at https://lnkd.in/efmtnwWG Kelley Drye & Warren LLP Kelley Drye Advertising Law

Just a few days ago, the Governor of Maryland, Wes Moore, signed the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act of 2024 (MODPA) into law. This law will go into effect in October 2025. On the same day, Gov. Moore signed the Maryland Kids Code which is designed to limit the data that can be collected from kids and invasive online practices.
