In fact, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer were the areas in which I was struggling the most in college , some twenty years ago. VCC has acquired the all-electric Freightliner eCascadia to enhance student training in electric transportation. This zero-emission semi will train students in the Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation program on safety and repair of heavy-duty electric equipment. Ajay Patel (he/him), VCC President, stated, "As we prepare to break ground on our new Centre for Clean Energy and Automotive Innovation in early 2024, the eCascadia is a timely addition to VCC’s Heavy Mechanical Trades program." Lucy Griffith M.Ed, Acting Dean, emphasized the importance of the eCascadia in aligning with VCC's strategic priorities to equip students with skills for future industry standards. VCC aims to provide clean energy education, complementing its existing fleet of electric vehicles. The Freightliner eCascadia was acquired from industry partner Velocity Truck Centres, Canada. Rod Graham, President, expressed excitement about supporting the future of student training in electric transportation.
