Thank you so much PCMA Heartland Chapter for hosting me to speak at the E3 Conference earlier this week in #StLouis! Beyond the case study for how HERITAGE worked to activate PCMA's spaces at #CL24, there were some phenomenal questions that made me want to stay and keep talking! (sorry Brian Hall and Dave Duncan for cutting into your time😬) My Favorite Q&A: ⚫ Attendee: "What I love about Convening Leaders especially if seeing that floor...the ideas that are being generated...I wish that we as PCMA members could get under the hood [of working with exhibitors]... How do you make an exhibitor have an activation and pay for that?" ⚪Marc Ghafoori: "PCMA has an opportunity to do things that not many can do...I would say through coaching and leading by example, of what they can achieve by going above and beyond. That's where you can be successful....This process [started several years ago]. [Finding those] key partners and sponsors of PCMA Spaces who really understood what we were trying to do already.... they [already] wanted to go bigger and wanted to do more....It's about finding those partners who know what you can do together. And I would challenge you to do that at all levels, not just your biggest sponsor or exhibitor. Some of those folks [at the lowest tier] that are bringing in an idea or concept that really does something more than just a pop-up and you can only do that through conversations - that's the only way to do it." However, we are finalizing the June panel, and when it is announced, I think everyone will appreciate the work our programming team continues to invest in the community. As we prepare to kick off our first full year of programming, we decided to get back to the basics: Why NCMA MetroMD Matters. MetroMD is an extension of a larger community, the National Contract Management Association. With 23,000 subscribers and nearly 100,000 members, NCMA is a driving force in the world of federal contracting. And if you don’t get that reference, I’m not sure we can be F•R•I•E•N•D•S any more... 🤷🏼♂️ Here’s what yesterday looked like for me: 7am - Picked up by Sam Fox, whose mantra is “If you’re on time, then you’re late” 7.15am - Obligatory Starbucks-provided caffeine hit 8am - Meeting with everyone’s best mate Phil Denton, MEd, BA (Hons), NPQEL (the man knows EVERYONE and is an annoyingly good guy) to discuss all things The Talk 10.30am - Attempted video call with some of the team (we COULD hear you Dean McCormick, Amy Kennedy, Jess Sweetenham & Maisie Hambleton - it just would’ve helped if you could see/hear us 🤣) 10.45am - Picked up Lewis James to start a WA5 Marketing day of meetings! 11.10am - Met with Chris Taylor of Techsel to discuss digital marketing and get some great insight in to the fantastic work he and his team are doing (if you’re looking for quality refurb tech, Chris is your man) 12.40pm - Held an onboarding / strategy meeting with the mathematical whizz that is Toni Priddey to look at how we’ll be taking First4Maths Academy to the next level! 3.30pm - Attended KNEKT.me’s inaugural networking event in Warrington town centre along with Lewis and TutorRight’s Ellie Young. Thanks again for the invite Tony Longmore 🤟🏻 6.30pm - Finally home - time for Dad Mode! 🤣❤️ So, what do I do? A bit of this… a bit of that… but mainly stuff that involves my passions of education, marketing and working with people. And, right now at least, I wouldn’t swap it for the world. - that’s a lie.
