Are you looking for the ability to change the shopper’s experience at the critical moment of choice? Do you want to go from static analogue storytelling to elevated dynamic storytelling with your shoppers? Are you interested in making the resulting brand experiences much more personalised, interesting and relevant to your shoppers aka adding value? Are you looking to have real time data analytics on your shopper’s behaviour at your fingertips? Are you keen to monetise the impact of your actions? There was such rich learning from this mornings session at the National Retail Federation on ‘What's in Store for Retail Media Networks’. The physical bricks and mortar store is the epicenter of the moment of truth/choice. Globally the physical store still accounts for 80-90% of cpg purchases. If you answered ‘yes’ to the questions above, then really familiarizing yourself as a brand owner or retailer to the opportunity that retail media offers is key because retail media is already providing the support tools to deliver the ‘yes’ to all of the above. A huge thanks to the speakers this morning for such an insightful discussion and perspective on this topic. Particularl call out to the team in Co-op for sharing their evolution around retail media. I loved the Baileys example Dean Harris. 2024 will be a pivotal year for the acceleration of this media opportunity with the intent of using the digitization of retail touchpoint to inspire purchase behaviour.
