Across our touchpoints with many caregivers, educators, leaders, practitioners and community members, we see people looking for more practical ways to make sense of wellbeing. The IMPACT Program introduces the PERMA model as a practical model of wellbeing and is readily understood and applied by children, families and adults. The model, developed by Martin Seligman, a pioneer in positive psychology, indicates that you will experience higher levels of wellbeing when you bring an intent to five key areas of you life. Which of these could you embrace this weekend? 🧩 Positive Emotions 🧩 Engagement 🧩 Relationships 🧩 Meaning 🧩 Accomplishment For a deeper understanding, we encourage you to read Dr Seligman's book Flourish.

We have great news: #PPL team will share during 1h workshop at the European Conference of Positive Psychology our experience (intervention and results) of #Resilience & #Well-being programme for parents (that we had running from 2021 to 2023). The 11th European Conference on Positive Psychology (ECPP 2024) will take place from 10th to 13th of July, 2024 in Innsbruck, Austria. The focus will be on the interdependence of human beings embedded in the surrounding world. Topics will address how we can apply the science of well-being to flourish together. Nobody just arrives by themselves on this planet. Nobody lives by themselves alone. We are fully interdependent on one another and our lives are deeply intertwined within a certain context and culture. The organisers just wrote us: Please inform your colleagues about the acceptance and tell them to register and pay the Early Bird Ticket - which we extended for you till 22nd of March. #ECPP #PPL #Luxembourg #positivepsychology Věra Kristensen, Suzanne Zsuzsa Karsai, Dana Moldoveanu Brandes Kehdija Pereira Maria Grazia Serra, Jannie Stricker,

Well-being & Trauma-Informed Practice Educator | Consultant | Community Development Practioner | Facilitator
📢 Day 🎱 of 1️⃣6️⃣ Days of Trauma-Informed Practice Ideas. 🏕️ If you're just joining us, - welcome!! - we're exploring 16 days of trauma-informed practices in December. These are brief practice explanations with a tangible tip for you to explore in your workplace. As I love a good teaching metaphor, each day somehow relates to my experiences at my favourite campground in Aotearoa New Zealand, Camp Waipu Cove. As you can see from today's post - the metaphor is a bit more of a reach for some of the practices than others. ⚖️ Today we explore equity. 🏞️ Just like we are responsive and adaptive to safeguarding our environment as changes arise, so do we need to be responsive and adaptive to meet the diverse needs of the people we work with and serve. Equity manifests as the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity and support to reach their self-defined goals and have their needs met regardless of their identity, resources or capabilities. 🌿 Equity is a trauma-informed practice because it acknowledges historical oppression and systemic racism as causes of trauma, it aims to reduce re-traumatization and it supports healing. (Part of fostering equity requires us to examine our unconscious biases as discussed on Day 4.) The embodiment of equity is vast. For example, at an institutional level, equity may look like offering culturally relevant services, supports, perspectives, teachings, and time off. On an individual level, it can look like removing deficit-thinking to stop pigeonholing someone's potential (this is particularly important in schools!). 💡 Tip: Do you offer equitable access (i.e. on the same floor) to wheelchair accessible and gender-neutral bathroom facilities? 🤓 If you’re looking for a deeper dive into how to be more trauma-informed in your workplace and interactions with others, you’re invited to join the upcoming Decolonized Trauma Informed Practice Professional Development Course! 📅 Weekly sessions for 8 weeks beginning Monday January 29th (PST). 💻 Facilitated via Zoom. Best suited for North American and New Zealand time zones. 💲 Only two more weeks of the early bird price! ➡ More info and to register: https://lnkd.in/gdPUxvAj #equity #traumainformed #traumainformedpractice #professionaldevelopment #learning #safety #trauma
