Fairen Kia is a body positive activist, model, and self-published author of "Dear Fat Girls: When Love Wasn’t Enough," where she shares her survival story from an abusive relationship. Known as the Champion of Self Love, Fairen currently makes it her life’s mission to change the narrative of the word fat from a negative connotation to a positive and uplifting conversation about owning your agency and having body confidence. Fairen founded Love Thy Belly, a body-positive organization, and works to represent plus-size individuals in multimedia forms. She is a wedding officiant, podcast personality, and body confidence coach with nearly two decades of experience, offering workshops, master classes, and events to promote self-love and body confidence. Is your path taking you where you want to go? I consider myself a student of Life. From as far back as I can remember, I have been fascinated by all things Beauty, Health and Wellness in all their facets. I love to use the 2 sides of my brain which is equal parts Arts and Science. I have studied and worked in the field of Health Sciences for a long time and I have a penchant for wanting to understand what drives us. I have experienced and studied many theories in a quest to better myself and my contribution as an individual, a leader and an executive coach. And in the past few years I have come to see the limitations of any science that aims to explain the complexities of Life/Health in single variables. Indeed we see companies touting the one miracle product that will make everything right. And we buy said product only to find that it doesn't quite live up to expectation. The truth is it may be a great product but likely it's only part of the equation. Like using great skincare while feeding your body junk or being really conscious of what you put on and in your body but feeding your mind the poison of negativity or stories that don't serve you, the journey to health in all facets of Life is not about the one miracle solution but rather an intentional participation in the creation a healthy Mind, Body and Spirit all working in symbiosis.
