Congratulations to Jessica Davis, our Seven Hills Rhode Island Clinician of the Year! She has been an employee of SHRI for the last 12 years, professionally growing into her role as ABA Clinical Supervisor. Jess has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to the clients on her caseload, an exemplary work ethic, and a willingness to assist other team members, regardless of the challenges related to her caseload. Jess often goes above and beyond by managing HBTS and PASS cases, which fall outside her regular duties and can present significant challenges. Jess is an asset to the Child and Family Services clinical team and is an amazing clinical supervisor. She embodies all of Seven Hills Core Values and we are thankful to have her on our team! #EmployeeoftheYear https://lnkd.in/esk7xMAK

I recently spoke with the brilliant Julie Garrity, about her career working for CQC and her thoughts on the sector currently. There were some really interesting takeaways one in particular was around the psychological impact of moving into a new home and how there is a need for short and long term support. 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 - > Smaller care services often struggle to access the necessary support and resources, highlighting the need for better support structures. > The complexity of care needs in care homes has increased due to longer life expectancies, requiring a shift in how care is provided and managed. > Governance and assurance are crucial in adult social care to ensure quality and safety. > Moving into a care home can have a profound psychological impact, and support is needed to help residents adjust. > Managers should focus on implementing good systems and processes that support delivering high-quality care every day to be prepared for inspections. P.S If you are a CQC manager looking for support there are people out there that can help. Drop me a DM and I'll point you in the right direction.

Do you have a relationship that needs mending? Is there a conflict you want to resolve with a relative, roommate, partner, or friend? Does it feel overwhelming to look for relational therapy, only to see therapists charging in the triple digits? If so... How does $40/session therapy sound? At Narrative Initiatives San Diego (NISD), where I trained as a student and now work as an intake coordinator, you can have the best of both worlds: relational work, and affordable rates. Our nonprofit clinic allows anyone in the state of California to see one of our student therapists for JUST $40 per session over telehealth (virtual sessions). You can make that rate even lower by paying $150 upfront for 5 sessions, or $30/session. Let's be honest, you probably spend more in one trip to Target than you would on these sessions. 😇 Not only is the work affordable, but our student therapists are incredibly thoughtful and creative. All of them are adults who are coming to therapy with a lot of lived experience. Additionally, as narrative therapists, they are experts at holding space, building trust, and being client-centered. Take that leap, nurture that relationship. When we heal our connections, we heal our world. . . . #affordabletherapy #therapy #virtualtherapy #lowcosttherapy #relationaltherapy #couplestherapy #couplescounseling #familytherapy
Hello! Our MFT Trainees and AMFTs would love to have your assistance with accruing their relational hours! If you or your clients are in need of low-cost referrals for family, couples, or relational therapy, please consider Narrative Initiatives San Diego! We have tiered rates based on the experience level of the clinician. Serving clients in-person in the Hillcrest area and remotely across California! https://lnkd.in/gQhT-EjW (619) 272-4450.

What is the future of the CQC? Why are inspections taking so long to happen? These are questions that have been on the minds of many candidates and clients in the adult social care industry. It's a constant issue and a hot topic, yet progress seems slow. Have you experienced delays in inspections from your council? I'm interested to know your thoughts on why this may be happening. Let's start a conversation and work towards finding solutions to improve the process. Feel free to DM me your thoughts! #CQC #adultsocialcare #inspections #progress

Could you defend that restrictive practice in court? One of the most memorable parts of the Australian Centre for Restraint Reduction and Elimination’s annual conference earlier this year was a comment by barrister Scott Morton to Dr Jeffrey Chan - it was something like "so you're telling me there was a million plus batteries (assaults) of people with a disability in a year!". Yes, there were that many unauthorised uses of restrictive practices (RPs) reported in Australia in a year. For Behaviour Support Practitioners - those people implementing the Regulated RPs you’ve outlined in the Behaviour Support Plans you’ve written, where the RP use is challenged, the following charges may apply: · Locking the doors, gates, windows - the charge is deprivation of liberty. · Holding someone - the charge is assault. · Using physical force to remove belongings - the charge is aggravated robbery. The question is, could you face a cross examination in a hearing around the robust need for that RP that is written in the Behaviour Support Plan as the least restrictive option if an authorisation (or no authorisation needed) was challenged? What about if someone tried to seek damages? Could you provide a CV that outlines how you are competent and knowledgeable and have maintained up-to-date knowledge and competency around RP use? For many Behaviour Support Practitioners the answer is no. What hope do we have for restraint reduction and elimination if BSPs themselves don't know what they don't know! That’s why we’re passionate (Positive Shift) about producing and attending and supporting all forms of PD on RP for BSPs at all levels. It’s about everyone’s rights and due diligence in practice. It’s about learning from lived experience, experts (like Sharon Paley Wakefield), supervisors, practitioner examples, legislation, authorising bodies, and up to date research to ensure that the rights of all are upheld and best practice is put in place. So please, go get more PD around RP! 👏 The ACCRE is often my go to: https://lnkd.in/gKCRCwp9

Hiring fellow BCBAs to work w/ our highly trained ABA therapists in NJ & GA >> We support our BCBAs, limit cases, and boost your career >> Director of Operations @ Circle Care Services 👉 Reach out to grow!
Clinical support and mentorship are crucial!
We support our BCBAs in NJ & GA, pay more, limit cases, and provide growth opportunity! >> Hiring BCBAs to work w/ our highly trained ABA therapists >> Founder @ Circle Care Services 👉 Reach out to upgrade your career
Even a seasoned BCBA can often be ‘back against the wall’ with a difficult parent or case that they’ve never encountered. Maybe a child not making progress, maybe something else. You need to know you’ll be supported. Case in point? Circle Care Services BCBAs work 1:1 with our clinical director and supervisors to make sure they never feel alone. There’s nothing we won’t do to help them be successful. Why? It goes deeper than simply supporting staff, although that’s part of it. Your children succeed as much as your BCBAs and other staff succeed. That’s their cap to success. So I ask other ABA agencies - go the extra mile in supporting your BCBAs. Nothing is off the table when it comes to ensuring they can do their jobs with excellence and joy. If you approve this message, please spread it!

Today me and two other executives at VicSRC presented evidence at the Parliament of Victoria's Inquiry into vaping and tobacco controls. We underscored how punitive measures are only a superficial response to a crisis like this, and a better support system and a healthcare based approach should be implemented to combat this, The fact that schools are often understaffed, with current staff members not being trained to handle situations where students may approach them about an issue with e-cigarette use, how students face fear in reaching out to staff members about a vaping problem, and how students should be incorporated in the co-design process of initiatives that engage with students themselves about vaping, quitting, and support available. https://lnkd.in/gfYXXrtX https://lnkd.in/ggjtwb_c
