Since its debut in Norway, NASAMS has been on a remarkable journey of continuous innovation, adapting to the evolving requirements of global defence landscapes. The KONGSBERG /Raytheon NASAMS Air Defence System features net centric architecture, multiple simultaneous engagements, Beyond Visual Range (BVR) capabilities, closely integrated and adapted to a country’s Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD). The NASAMS network expands the defended area and enhances the total fighting capability of the armed forces. The European Hypersonic Defence Programme (HYDEF), following the kick-off in November 2023, has celebrated its second Core Stakeholder Workshop (CSW2) in February, marking a significant milestone in the development of a hypersonic air defense system. With a focus on consolidating specific customer requirements, the workshops led by the European HYDEF consortium aim to ensure the conceptual design of an effective air defence system that meets the needs of Europe, NATO partners, and their populations. As part of this initiative, GMV is responsible for Boost and Mid-Course (BMC) navigation, simulation environment development, and defining the concept of operations (CONOPS) for space situational awareness and early warning. #HYDEF #EuropeanDefense #Project

We have just signed a contract with the Spanish Ministry of Defence for the development and procurement of #SIRTAP, a high-performance remotely piloted system that will enhance the tactical capabilities of Ejercito de Tierra and Ejército del Aire y del Espacio. SIRTAP is designed for advanced surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance missions, both on land and at sea. Its range of more than 2,000 km and endurance of more than 20 hours will provide great flexibility and responsiveness, enabling day and night operations. The system will be certified to fly in restricted airspace. The RAF hosted a conference at RAF Cranwell by the UK led MQ-9B (Remotely Piloted Air System) International Cooperative Programme (MICP). Significant progress was made in areas of mutual interest, including: training, provision of certification evidence, data to achieve Military Type Certification, as well as discussions related to cost-sharing on capability enhancements. The conference brought together key stakeholders from across the globe who have or are interested in procuring the MQ-9B platform, to discuss how they can enhance collaboration and advance the MQ-9B program. Participants included representatives from MICP partners and observers, leading defence agencies including the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, the MQ-9B manufacturer, demonstrating a unified commitment to strengthening global security through cutting-edge unmanned aerial capabilities. NSPA, in its role as Tier 1 Third Party Enabler is to provide the necessary resources and expertise to ensure the smooth execution of the MICP activity working closely with the international teams with the aim to achieve the desired outcomes. Software Release 3 On June 13th 2024, during the Community Steering Committee, the General Manager of NAHEMA, Michael KOHLHAAS, and the President of NH Industries, Axel ALOCCIO, announced the signing of a major contract titled, the “Software Release 3 - Development and Qualification”. This contract involves a software and hardware upgrade of the Belgian, Dutch, German and Italian NH90 fleets. Tactical Transport Helicopters (NH90 TTH) and NATO Frigate Helicopters (NH90 NFH) will receive numerous technical modifications such as up to date IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) functions and modern communication equipment, including satellite communication. New electro-optical systems will improve reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities. Furthermore Data Link 22 will be introduced in the NFH fleet to exchange tactical data with other units in real-time. A modernization of submarine detection and naval warfare weapon systems will further enhance the operational capabilities of the NH90 NFH. Taking into account the number of technical modifications and the financial commitment, the Software Release 3 project can be considered the most important joint evolution of the NH90 to date, and prepares the most advanced military helicopter in service for the coming decades.  

Frequentis renews military radar data network of the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces) The development of MilRADNET began in 2004 and was conceived as a pioneering solution for the exchange and distribution of military flight surveillance and flight plan data. The new contract represents an important milestone in the long-standing partnership between Bundeswehr and Frequentis. MilRADNET was the first military radar data network in Germany. In the latest project, SDDS-NG (Surveillance Data Distribution System - Next Generation) will replace the predecessor system. This transition is an important step that will further improve the performance and effectiveness of surveillance data processing. In addition, the stability and scalability requirements resulting from new technologies and additional usage units for flight surveillance data can be met efficiently. "MilRADNET's journey reflects our tireless efforts to keep military communication and networking at the highest level. The continuation of the MilRADNET project is a milestone in our long-standing cooperation. Success for #ACCS during the NATO Exercise Poggio Dart 23 Two ACCS systems (A Combined Air Operations Center CARS and a Deployable Control Reporting Center DARS) were used to conduct the whole PODA23 exercise from computer assisted exercise to live planning/tasking to the execution of live operations. The DARS was interfaced with radars and over Tactical Data Links (L16 and JRE) exchanging real time information with CAOCs and Fighters and getting backlink information from these flying assets.
