Approximately 25 million people are victims of human trafficking. Artificial intelligence and modern technology help detect early signs of human trafficking and prevent its occurrence at the source. AI can also identify human trafficking networks and formulate effective policies to combat this issue. Don’t miss our next post on how AI enhances elderly care in North America. #AIForGlobalGood

Digital Life Institute members to present a talk on Technology and Trafficking: Risks and Prevention in the Digital Age 24-hour Conference on Global Organized Crime, October 30, 7:30PM Speakers: Julius Kaka , Shawna Hill , Délon Alain Omrow, PhD , Vanesa Singh and Isabel Pedersen About This Talk The aim of the proposed symposium is to explore the wicked problem of human trafficking, looking specifically at how human traffickers are incorporating digital technology into their criminal activity to trap and exploit people using deception, violence, or coercion. Traffickers are now leveraging digital technology to recruit and control their victims, using keywords on social media to identify potential victims and using generative artificial intelligence (AI) to isolate and track both victims and those willing to pay for them as labor or for sexual exploitation. This panel will offer intersectional testimonials from survivors of human trafficking, but also analyze human trafficking AI-prevention technologies. https://lnkd.in/g2R2Um72

This concept of using AI to implant memories as a form of criminal justice is both fascinating and ethically complex. While the idea of making criminals experience the consequences of their actions firsthand to trigger empathy and remorse is innovative, it also raises significant concerns about the potential for psychological torture and trauma. I've always believed that a death sentence can be an easy escape for those who commit heinous crimes like rape or acid attacks. Instead, they should truly feel the pain and suffering they inflicted on their victims. This approach could potentially reform them more effectively and serve as a stronger deterrent. However, the implementation of such technology must be approached with caution and a deep consideration of the ethical implications. It's a fine line between justice and inhumane treatment. Is this the future of criminal justice? It’s a question worth exploring, with a focus on both the potential benefits and the moral boundaries. #AI #Ethics #CriminalJustice

Imagine a future where criminals serve their sentences in minutes instead of years by implanting AI-generated memories into their brains. This wild concept, created by Hashem Al-Ghaili, treats criminals like patients, making them experience the consequences of their actions firsthand. The goal is to trigger empathy and remorse by putting prisoners in the victim's shoes, hoping to reform them completely. But using AI to implant memories sounds scary and raises ethical concerns about torture and trauma. Is this the future of criminal justice? 🤔 #CriminalJustice #AI #FutureTech

This concept of using AI to implant memories for criminal rehabilitation is fascinating and brings up important discussions on the future of criminal justice. While the potential for fostering empathy and remorse is intriguing, the ethical implications cannot be ignored. The idea of manipulating memories touches on issues of consent, psychological trauma, and the potential for misuse. It's crucial that we balance technological innovation with ethical considerations to ensure we uphold human dignity and rights. What are your thoughts on how we can navigate these challenges?

My last AI Fellow Faculty Workshop will be May 2nd. In advance of that session on #GenTech policies in the syllabus, I write here about why we need policies in this academic specific genre, for both students and the administration. I'd be jazzed to hear your thoughts... #GenAi #highereducation #faculty #CTLs #thedigitalage
