In this week's Cilium Weekly, I cover a new feature I'd been waiting for a while: GAMMA ! Ɣ Gam-what?! GAMMA stands for "Gateway API for Mesh Management and Administration". While Gateway API was the new standard for Ingress (North/South) traffic, GAMMA looks at providing a new standard for service mesh (East/West) use cases. In the demo, I show you how we can now do path-based routing and load-balancing internally within the cluster using Cilium and GAMMA. Coming in Cilium 1.16 but available now for testing with the 1.16 release candidate. PS: there are days where the mouth and brain just won't cooperate - this was my 8th or 9th take. Making videos is hard 😦 🐝

One week from the launch and already 2 clients who will start a project soon with our new 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐄! The missing piece between high-throughput simulations (i.e. Colon-on-a-plate) and clinical trials in vitro (i.e. long-term SHIME) was indeed needed.
