You have not met your targets this week, so you’ll have to work on your days off. I know, ma'am, but last week I was the top performer on the team! Last week's results don’t matter to us. You either complete your target today, or you’ll have to work on your day off! What are we paying you for? This was the conversation my manager had with me back in 2021. At that point, I felt powerless, not in control. I so wanted to give her back, but I couldn’t because I had bills to pay and other responsibilities! But that day, I made one promise to myself: I will not allow anyone in my life to talk to me like that. You see, in life, you don’t get what you want; you get what you tolerate. Soon after that incident, I started working on myself and improving my skills with only one objective: to achieve financial confidence. This means I can say no to anything that I don’t want to do. A few months later, I successfully quit my toxic job and learned the skill of high-ticket closing, which gave me the leverage of making money on my own terms and from the comfort of my home! We lose 2 working days to bank holidays in May. Which is great if you're employed. But it isn't necessarily great for business owners. Understanding how things change in different areas—like the environment, culture, economy, and society—is very important. It can help make the difference between just having a good plan and actually making it work. I remember being at an event once where I was in charge of a booth by myself(for a few minutes before the actual people responsible were there). People came up to me asking about the same service, but they all wanted to know different things. One person wanted to know what they would get if they paid 1000 pula every month. Another asked if they could pay for 24 months if they got 100K. Someone else wanted to know how long they would have to pay if they could only pay 500 pula a month for a 50K service. Even though the service was the same, what they wanted to know was different because of who they were and what they needed. This shows how important it is to think about the people who use your service. You can't just make up an idea of who your customer is. You have to pay attention to the real people who come to you every day, and see how they are different. This way, you can give them what they really need.
