Publisher, Investigative Visual Journalist, Public Records Expert, Local - Community News- Advocate for Cameras in Court
First Amendment activists should be laser focused on the courts in Silicon Valley. These courts claim to be so backlocked people have been waiting in jail for years to get trials. Family court litigants are being bled out financially by judges continuing cases because of lack of court reporters and no power in the $283 milllon courthousethe judges claimed they desperately needed. Judges are going out to read to kids instead of doing the job paid to do like a well oiled propaganda machine as they crush public trust with secret BBMP meetings and memberships in groups like Inns of Court which they fail to disclose or remove themselves from cases where these memberships create clear conflicts of interest. 80 % of judge appointments in this court for minors counsel , private judges and discovery referees are white. Interpreters are non existent and the judges are married to or sleeping with court staff, cops and lawyers and never disclose it to the people who appear before them for their legal matters. Court cases move on secret dockets and due process doesn’t exist for the poor and most vulnerable as judges munch down feee lunches and take free trips provided by the lawyers who appear before them which they shamelessly never disclose #JudgePennypacker #JudgeGeffon #JudgeMcGowan topping our list this week . The court is also using social media while controlling public access through mainstream media. Here and on YouTube public comments are blocked. On Twitter only paid verified users can respond. The judges in Silicon Valley and the corrupt attorneys working for the court are the most dismissive of the First Amendment and civil rights in the country. Given the proximity to Silicon Valley and history of public corruption ( Judge Danser indictment for fixing traffic tickets with the Los Gatos police ) , it’s the little things that the ACLU and other groups should be watchdogging not parenting or marketing for parent votes as of the judges are warming up for another political campaign.

Last week we released a 2023 reflection on bicyclist and pedestrian safety in Maine. Considering the uptick in pedestrian deaths from crashes particularly in the final months of the year, there was a lot to be discouraged about. We encourage everyone to read our report (link below) so you can see our findings as well as our proposed solutions. There is no one cause to these crashes, there is no one solution. Maine can and should to better. Taking a walk or going on a bike ride on a roadway should not be a life-threatening activity. https://lnkd.in/eSQvTite

Many of you might not be aware of the hidden downside to the data centers being built all over Virginia. The localities want the economic boost, and we can't fault them for that. But they are issuing permits without having the full story of the impact on the environment - clean drinking water, fish & wildlife species - and on energy needs. The centers require high energy needs (which Dominion has publicly stated that it isn't positioned to provide all that is being planned for). They produce tons of noise, pull thousands of gallons of surface water out of our rivers, dumping processed water into other rivers, ignoring the impact on threatened species like the American Sturgeon and river herring. The growing AI industry will not just build static data centers - they will grow their facilities to demand more natural resources. The Potomac aquifer is low and not filling at a historically adequate rate; rivers have been in drought stages often in recent years, and the rising sea level is bringing salinity further up the rivers and causing damage to native plant and aquatic life. These are just things that we know about that are happening without the impact of data centers. Finally, the localities making these decisions aren't working together strategically, nor are they listening to the voices of reason. Even the governor's office admits that coordination isn't happening. It's all about the money. I am concerned as a voice of the Rappahannock Tribe and the years of work and fundraising we've put in to reacquire ancestral homelands on the Rappahannock River, but I'm also concerned as a private citizen who can foresee a threat to clean drinking water and a loss of power for our homes and businesses. Please educate yourself on the impact of data centers in our state. Do we really want to sacrifice qualify of life for an industry that isn't concerned with our health or natural resources?
Save the Rappahannock River! As some of you may be aware, that Caroline County has proposed the development of a data center that would withdraw a substantial amount of water from the Rappahannock River. The Tribe advocates against this development as the traditional stewards of the River. She is like our Mother who nurtures us all with her water and the bounty it provides. WATER IS LIFE! The Tribe has issued a letter of opposition to the state. Please join us in our campaign to help fight against the stealing of our waters and depletion of our sacred River. Blessings for your help, Chief Anne Richardson Please click this link to view the entire letter. https://lnkd.in/eUWPqghc
