Listening to Dave McComb always reminds us that we should care also about concepts orchestration (knowledge engineering). The battle of data detached from semantics already happened and the were no winners. Amplifying the generation and dissemination of data that nobody really understands is scary. It is like building random sentences without grammar, syntax, cultural context. Why are we so scared of facing the excercise of defining, challenging and finding a consensus about conceptualisations? Yes, this is a tough task, a big investment. We all know that change is the new normal, for anything, maybe except for concepts: concepts are not changing every 6 months, this might be one of the only fields in the data space where it is worth designing and building, having duration in mind.

Data-Centric Insights Two items have just been released that are worth checking out.
