We've learned from experience that building #capacity is substantially more than just #training. We believe it is part of the #learning continuum, with the goal of engaging with the partner iteratively, starting with identifying learning needs and skill gaps, zeroing in on the #competency required for the specific job, and then curating a learning program, including a training schedule. Continuous post-training #assessment of learning improvement and identifying future learning needs becomes our pivot to help institutions steer the learning journey. #learning #training #sambodhi #capacitybuilding #capacitydevelopment
#Collaboration and capacity-building are not mere terms but the cornerstone for fostering a #resilient and progressive society. Recognizing their potential, #Sambodhi is actively engaging government functionaries in a series of #workshops as part of the P.A. Sangma Fellowship. In January, we conducted a two-day training session in #Shillong for officers from the Planning Department and P.A. Sangma Legal and Policy Fellows. Led by Apurva Kumar, the session shed light on the role of public policy and policy analysis in charting the path to sustainable development. As we continue on this transformative journey, we are gearing up for our next #training session, which will navigate the ever-changing landscape of #governance and MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning). Stay tuned for further updates. Rajib Nandi | Sudhanshu Malhotra | Amartya K. This is one of my projects at the MET Professional Academy. It gave us the opportunity to research a new set of skills, called Durable Skills. These skills are essential in the professional world but are not traditionally taught in schools. Working in groups, we picked a skill, researched it, and created an informational video regarding the importance of not only that skill, but all Durable Skills. https://lnkd.in/dCPPmByz

AGENCY: Professional Learning and Development... "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Mead Human beings are agents of power and change. On a more specific level, agency describes the phenomenon that individuals—including both single individuals and groups of individuals—are capable of making choices and acting on these choices in order to exert control over their lives and the environments they are living in (Crockett 2002; Emirbayer and Mische 1998; Eteläpelto et al. 2013; Harteis and Goller 2014; Martin 2004). It follows that agency is usually associated with individuals who, in a given situation, make decisions, take initiatives, act proactively rather than reactively, deliberately strive and function creatively and innovatively (Eteläpelto et al. 2013; Goller 2017). Some scholars understand agency as an individual characteristic that enables individuals to make choices and initiate actions that allow them to take control over their lives and environments (e.g. Harteis and Goller 2014). Others, by contrast, specifically deny that agency is something possessed by individuals, insisting rather on agency as something that individuals or collectives actually do (e.g. Lipponen and Kumpulainen 2011; Vähäsantanen 2013). #personaldevelopment #professionaldevelopment

Here is the response from Konchok Norgay, LEH Faculty, to the question that we asked you last week: What is the Purpose of Knowledge? Here is what Konchok Norgay has to say: To dispel Ignorance: The purpose of knowledge is to help dispel ignorance and keep learning from our past experiences. Achieving mastery and efficiency in things: One always needs to strive towards achieving mastery in all doings while understanding the importance of being a better human. Creating Harmony in beings and things: So long as there is harmony in dealing with multiple work in our daily life there's always longer lasting solutions for lesser regrettable period in life. To lead a better life: Since we are supposed to learn new things about oneself and many other things in and around us so we have better life. Ecologically sustainable solutions: Ecology plays very crucial role in saving our planet earth. Understanding the relationship with between ourselves and our surrounding will help us give heed towards safety of our future generation and their space to live. Title: Reflecting on a Valuable Learning Experience "Recently, I had the opportunity to go through the application process with the Soil Association for the position of 'Certification Administrator'. While I wasn't successful in securing the position, this experience has been incredibly valuable. It allowed me to deepen my understanding of the environmental sector and reassess my professional skills and aspirations. I'm grateful to have engaged with such a forward-thinking organisation and am excited to apply these insights to my future endeavours. Onward and upward! #CareerGrowth #LearningExperience #EnvironmentalCareers"

As I attended the IGAD Kampala Declaration meeting last week I was very excited to see them discuss participatory creation of the Theory of Change! Working in silos on impact work that affects so many people and stakeholders doesn't work for very long. You need buy in and you need to be able to adapt to the changes your community face. That is why I created my course and priced it at a very accessible price so people can learn the foundations of how to do this. You will learn: - what is a Theory of Change - who needs to be involved and how to make group decisions - the steps to creating your Theory of Change - what to measure, how to analyse and how to turn this into workable actions collaboratively - how to get people on board - how to embed learning into your work #impact #impactmeasurement #collaborationforchange #onlinecourse #onlinelearning https://lnkd.in/dkJFvcDd

Congratulations to #chadwickinternational Jaeyul Kim, #serviceleader Grade 7 student! Jaeyul recently had the incredible opportunity to present his service project directly to Dr. Huh, Associate Head for External Affairs. Jaeyul's project tackles a crucial aspect of UN SDG #9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. His specific focus is Target 9.5, which aims to significantly increase research and development in developing countries. Jaeyul's innovative proposal advocates for funding to support research projects undertaken by 3 middle school students. These projects will delve into service-related topics that connect to either a UN Sustainable Development Goal or a school-related issue. Empowering students at a young age to explore their passions, identify problems, and develop solutions is key to fostering the next generation of changemakers. We're incredibly proud of Jaeyul's initiative and drive to make a positive difference. Keep shining, Jaeyul! THE POWER OF ENCOURAGEMENT!💪💪💪 Ever notice how easy it is to give up on a plan or goal when challenges show up? It's like standing at a crossroads, wondering if the journey is worth it. A little encouragement can light up someone's path to success, and I've seen it happen time and again with friends, colleagues, and loved ones. For example, my friend Uche recently completed his Master's programme at UNILAG. Let me tell you, his project defence was not easy, and at one point, he almost gave up. However, with the right support and encouragement, he persevered and successfully aced it! My friend Alero, who is a fantastic medical doctor, recently got her posting approved at Yale Hospital. She faced some challenges while writing the application, especially the personal statement. However, with some encouragement and my writing skills, we were able to help her through the hurdles and guide her to success. Let's not forget about Cleopatra, a former colleague from my customer service days in Warri. Despite her initial worries, she took the leap and now she's rocking her own photography business! Encouragement goes a long way in keeping us on the right track. Personally, those words of support have been a game-changer for me. They've helped me achieve more than I thought possible and kept my eyes laser-focused on my goals. So here's to everyone spreading positivity. Your encouragement is a force that turns challenges into stepping stones. Keep cheering each other on, and let's watch the success stories unfold! #SoftSkills #WordsofEncouragement #EncouragementMatters #SuccessStories #KeepPushingForward
