Despite a sluggish VC market, new startups are still gearing up to tackle climate challenges head-on. Inspired by these startups I researched 10 of the most promising Climate startups founded in 2023, which have already raised millions in funding. ⚡️ Energy remains a key focus, with startups addressing various aspects DREM / Ensol: Providing decentralized energy solutions for consumers (heat pumps/solar). Metris Energy: Offering solar systems tailored for commercial properties. Renewabl: Sourcing fully renewable energy with transparent certifications. Allye: Enhancing local grid resilience through self-learning energy storage. Steady Energy: Decarbonizing heavy industries with nuclear engineering solutions. 🏭 But it's not just about energy—other startups are tackling diverse challenges smalt: Hiring and training for critical climate-related skills. Elyos Energy: Assisting commercial buildings in reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint. Renew Risk: Providing risk modeling and analytics services for insurers, among others. Thanks Sean Dietrich! In my experience, the combination of satellite EO, field based EO (like eDNA, or soil sampling) and AI are going to be the critical emerging technologies that are going to solve the climate and nature related challenges ahead. In my opinion, every company that falls into thee categories will have the power to succeed as long as it solves an specific need / use case. Some of the companies or products that are already solving real world climate and nature challenges are Pachama, Planet, NatureDots, Landler.io from The Landbanking Group, Kanop or Nala Earth. I regularly post about why companies should care about climate and nature and how to execute their agendas. I would love to see you there!
Except a few like renew-risk and limenet and elsoy the rest in the list in my opinion are not really tech companies,, they seem not to have a entry barriers. i would be happy to learn if it is otherwise

9moSean Dietrich Was all the funding raised with European VCs? At that level, I‘d imagine it‘s fine and possible but there’s a big gap in European scale-up capital
