Not all MFA's are created equally, Microsoft still passes clear text with MFA, and using push MFA notification is a good way to get MFA fatigue, hardware keys or software TOTP (FreeOTP) using AES256 over TCP/IP (FIPS140-2) with a sha512 for maximum protection. when we built our MFA solution from the ground up we made it so it can integrate with Cisco DUO of course I am leaving some things out to keep post short. With StormCloud Gov, you can deploy an unpatched Windows XP Pro and never be able to exploit it, before Secure by Design was a market buzz word StormCloud Gov was already there. it's a great video to show what solutions may or may not work.
